“Excellent Hotel Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2013

My sister recently had her wedding at the Imperia and had set aside a block of rooms at the Fairfield Inn for her guests. We stayed here the night before the wedding and the night of, and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious, which was definitely a bonus since we were getting ready in the rooms. The beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The breakfast was sooo good, and there was definitely a lot to choose from. My mom swears their coffee is the best she ever tried! Besides the hotel itself being in great shape, I have to say what really made our stay special was the staff. They were so personable and friendly, and helped out in every way they could. And this includes the front desk, the housekeeping, and the breakfast staff. All around this hotel was an amazing place to stay at, and my sister's wedding experience wouldn't have been as great if we stayed anywhere else!

FIRST I have to give major props to the Marriott rewards reservations staff. I called them at 4am the morning after/night of Hurricane Sandy to help me find a place for our family to stay. A huge tree hit our house and then the power went out, my kids were sleeping in the basement ---- we were a MESS. I wanted the Residence Inn because we were familiar with the hotel, they have a pool, accept pets, etc. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a room there until Friday (11/2) so the wonderful reservation person (I'll call him my Clarence from "It's a Wonderful Life") set out to find us the "next best thing" that would also be close to home for us. And he did!! He got us a room for the same night (10/30) and that is how we ended up at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. When we arrived at Fairfield Inn - it was wonderful. My kids were so happy to be somewhere warm and safe, they might as well have been in Disney World!!! The staff was OUTSTANDING. The front desk staff was amazing. Cheerful, helpful, compassionate. Everything we needed after being ousted from our house by a hurricane!!!! The young genteman answering the phone would say "It's a beautiful day at Fairfield Inn & Suites. How can I help you?" And the phone was ringing off the hook with people looking for a place to stay. When we checked-in there was already a waiting list of 47 people!!! Anyway - I need to talk about the hotel - sorry for the long explanation. The hotel is new, modern, very nice - it really felt like a more upscale hotel then I expected. There is a water feature out front that helps add to that as well. The lobby is big and comfortable with a couple of TV's and two computer stations. The dining area is very nice. The coffee is always flowing (thank GOD) and there are periodically warm cookies on the front counter!! The fitness center is also very well equipped. Our room was a perfect size for our family. We really needed a room with two queen beds but we had to settle for a King suite under the circumstances. Our children slept on the sofa bed which was fine for them, but I tried it and would never last one night there. The bathroom was big with a huge bathtub the kids loved. There was a good size refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of storage everywhere in our room. We were even able to store our big marine cooler right next to the frig. There were lots of outlets in the room. We loved the way the desk had a TV above it for the living room area and the bedroom section had a TV as well. It was great for the kids to watch their shows while we tried to catch-up on storm related news. One negative for the kids was that only Cartoon Network worked and at night there were 'adult' only cartoons. The tv was supposed to have Nickolodean but that station didn't work at all unfortunately. We did let them play the video games while we were packing up the room, but at $7/hr it was a little pricey. We did end up moving to the Residence Inn so that we would have more cooking options and the pool for the kids. But if we didn't need those things - we would have been happy to stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites for the duration of our time away from home. OH - have to mention that the Breakfast at Fairfield Inn and Suites was excellent. They have great food choices - many things that can be taken back to the room to eat if the restaurant is crowded or the kids are sleeping late. Next time we are traveling or have friends coming to town, I will be looking for a Fairfield Inn and Suites!!!

Room Tip: If you are traveling with your kids try to get a Queen double suite - the sofa bed isn't very co...

We stayed overnight at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Somerset because we were attending a wedding next door at the Palace. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very personable. We really enjoyed the breakfast the next morning and the fact that we could easily walk to/from the event.

Hurricane Sandy made it necessary for us to find other accommodations for a few days, but fortunately, I had booked this hotel. The front desk staff is professional, friendly and accommodating in every way. The room was clean and comfortable. The housekeeping staff was so kind when we asked them to change our all of the bedding to feather free for our stay. Our family of four took turns staying, showering and warming up in our room while we also cared for our dog at our nearby home. The hotel, as were all in the area, was fully booked due to the storm. Many power workers were staying, as well. At breakfast there was a homey, warm feeling amongst all the guests sharing their stories and urging the power company workers on. The BEST part of breakfast was the wonderful man who so carefully prepared, served and "nutured" the perfectly ample buffet breakfast. Those warm entree choices and homemade waffles made the worst cold dark days so much better for all of us! The staff at this hotel should be recognized and rewarded for their true pride in their jobs and tireless efforts to make everyone feel "at home".

My cousin & I stayed @ the Fairfield Inn & Suites Somerset NJ for the week end of October 13 & 14. Our room was clean & welcoming with the bonus of a sitting area, microwave & fridge. The mattress was more comfortable than mine at home & the variety of pillows was very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of hot & cold foods & the cookies in the evening were delish! Would certainly stay there again.

My sister and I stayed here in Sept/Oct 2012 for several nights. From check in to departure the employees at the front desk were excellent. Of special note is Samir, who oversees the breakfast area. His customer service is outstanding! Every morning we were greeted by him and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He even cooked up some special treats that weren't on the buffet. What a great way to start every one of our mornings. He is an employee that makes a difference. I hope the management acknowledges the service he is providing for them. How awesome to have an employee that works 7 days/week, that is dedicated, hard working, takes pride in his work, and goes above and beyond with customer service. Please give that man a raise!!

My family and friends stayed at this hotel while attending a wedding in the area. The check-in was nice (as were the cookies they had out for everyone) and very fast. My room was clean and perfect for what I needed. There was plenty of room to move around and get ready. The bed's were a bit uncomfortable, but not bad for the one night. The breakfast was good. There was bacon, egg and cheese omelets and an assortment of muffins, pastries, etc. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I'd recommend i to anyone needing a hotel in he area.
