We rented a room in Sept. The room rate was good. We had a great room facing the ocean. Service was good. The food was good. Location of the hotel was superb. We will probably return.

My wife and I were part of a group of 200 people who came to the Breakers for a 50th high school reunion from all over the US. Most of our group stayed in the hotel and all ate the banquet and breakfast the next day. Breakers staff did an excellent job on the banquet, feeding that crowd fast. Prime rib was tasty and hot. Our room had very nice side view of the ocean, and sound of the ocean at night. The place is old, and the room smelled of smoke, but we are spoiled being from smoke free California. I'd recommend the Breakers for such an affair to anyone.

We had a big family reunion here, and there were some problems. There were weddings constantly, which limited our access to the lovely porch. Some people whose rooms were on the second floor could hear the music from the wedding reception at night. We had one of our group dinners in the private room, and it was pretty expensive for what we got. However, the place really worked well for our multi-age group: there is a swimming pool for the little kids, and they serve food at tables by the pool. I had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant, and it wasn't too expensive and wasn't bad. The beach is right across the street (but you're not allowed to bring food onto the beach). My room was just fine, although pricey. It's true the employees weren't terrific, but the place still turned out to work for our group.

First, the hotel looks beautiful from the outside with a beautiful wrap-around porch. BUT! The employees are so nasty, they completely negated the beautiful space. We were stuck in a room in what they call the Annex and we had to walk behind the kitchen (with all the garbage cans) and through the parking lot. The rom itself was quite large and the bathroom was HUGE...but again, the attitude of the staff completely negated this as well. I spoke with many people who told me they would never stay there again. I most definitely will not.
Also, the food is horrible.
Your best bet is to take a nice walk into town and hit some of the delis and bakeries...you will be much happier.

That best describes the way I was treated. The staff was really mean. What a shame, Spring Lake is a great area and has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, the staff at the Breakers doesn't believe in good customer service. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to management things really got unpleasant ... I would never return.

This place was the worst --- the rooms are small , they always take care of the wedding party first , and the people behind the front desk really are not nice. The only thing this place has going for them are the ONION RINGS!!!!!!

The guys behind the counter were the most unprofessional people we were profiled as soon as we walked in the door I guess because we were not wearing an expensive suit like the rest of the people there. We were told that we were getting a "two Bedroom penthouse suite" We went up to the room we only got a one bed room with one bed. We were supposed to get an ocean view again lied to we got a view of the motel next door. This is the most horrible place to stay o yea we paid 350 dollars and we didn’t even stay the night and they told us that we were not getting our money back we could have went to the Ramada inn and paid less then half of that and got a bigger room, that had a nice staff of people and not of gotten lied to about everything I would suggest that if you were thinking of this place please do yourself a huge favor and don’t go to this placeWe went outside to leave and there was a lady out there and she said that she was lied to also about everything about her room also so please don’t waste your money staying there
