My wife and I had the pleasure of spending two nights in the Hewitt Wellington and were delighted with the accommodations. We stayed in a first floor suite which was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was just right.

Quiet and relaxing with simple amenities and also a pool. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Understanding there is most likely no kitchen available for cooking, I would recommend upgrading the breakfast with some granola, fruit and muffins.

Very nice staff - friendly, helpful, very attentive and accommodating. Rooms were large, separate bathrooms off a hallway = good layout. Its a solid 5 minute walk to the beach, so keep that in mind.

My biggest gripe would be that the hotel needs updating. They were getting new hallway furniture while we were there, and it looked nice. But, the rooms are in need, too. Paint peeling in our bathroom, old grout. Dust in the rooms. Generally, the place just needs some updating.

Breakfast was continental with coffee from a machine. No waffles, just toast, cereal and fruit.

"Whispers" the restaurant on-site (separately owned) looked really nice and is supposed to be one of the better around. They didn't have high chairs and it just seemed to formal for our 2 year old. We didn't want to disturb the older patrons there in their blue blazers.

Pillow pretty good, bed was stiff.

The value was good since we got a half price deal from Travel Zoo. Not sure I'd pay full price for this hotel.

Thank you for sharing the details of your most recent stay!

We appreciate the kind words, and the thorough feedback. As with any historical building, there are a lot of things that needs updating. We are constantly updating the property. Over the past two years, we have added new carpet throughout the property, and as you had mentioned we had put new furniture in all of the common areas. We do not have any paint in any of our bathrooms, so I am unsure as to what you could be referring to. However, we always take our guest's feedback very seriously, and we will always try to improve ourselves. Perfection is unattainable...however, we always strive for the impossible.

We hope you can visit us again in the future and see what amazing updates we have planned for the following year!

Once again thank you for sharing your experiences. Have a great day!

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and we made a good choice. We stayed in one of the pool porch rooms and we enjoyed being so close to the pool and having our own private little porch to just relax with a book. The pool was small but very clean and nicely maintained. Breakfast was a little dissappointing to us because we love big hot breakfasts when we are on vacation, however, the offerings were adequate to get your day started. And a very big plus was the wonderful coffee made with fresh ground beans whenever you wanted! We loved relaxing on the front porch just steps away from Spring Lake and close to the beach. All in all we had a very pleasant experience, and would visit again, only we would make our stay a little longer!

Thank you for sharing the details of your most recent stay with us!

We're very pleased to hear that you made great use of the property, and all of the great common areas. The rooms with the private porches are very popular, as they make it very easy to access the pool privately, and when you need to take a break from the Sun and water, you can just relax on the enclosed porch attached to your room. They are very popular.

Next time you should definitely stay longer...just to enjoy the coffee!

Once again, thank you for sharing your experiences. Have a great day!

we have enjoyed the Hewitt Wellington's hospitality many times, so we booked an extended stay of 5 days. Once again, we had a great time in Spring Lake. It is our favorite place at the Jersey shore and we are planning another extended stay in Oct. Thanks to Mr. Hamby and all the staff at the Wellington and we will see you soon!

Room Tip: we are going to keep our favorite to ourselves, but there is not a bad one in the place.

the general manager never returned my email(sent the day of the reservation 30 days prior to arrival).
Our room was nice but the cofffee maker and microwave were not plugged in . You had to move a large dresser to get to an outlet. Get a power strip!!!!
thanks to kathy and jimmy for excellent service and accomodating us.
Whispers restaurant is hotel is Outstanding..a must eat there. breakfast was OK but waiting for individual cups to brew from coffee machine was tedious. they should have pots of cofee there to accomodate breakfast influx

Room Tip: pool side rooms are great.

A beautiful community and my favorite place to stay at the Jersey Shore. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Suggestions: In the breakfast room, the table place mats should be replaced and the trash container openings cleaned.

In my bedroom, the area behind the bed should be cleaned including the back of the headboard (I dropped something, etc.) Also, clean under the TV box.
