My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at The White Lilac Inn at Spring Lake New Jersey on the weekend of Oct. 12-14. This was our third or fourth stay there. It is a lovely place to unwind and relax. Mari and her staff are a joy to be around. And of course seeing Buddy makes it even better! We love the way Mari and her staff have decorated the Inn. It is truly a great place to be if you want to get away for a weekend. We highly recommend a stay here. We will be back again. Greg and Sande

My husband and I have been coming to the White Lilac for several years. It is the perfect mini getaway for us. As soon as we walk in, we immediately begin to unwind. We have tried several rooms and love them all. The beach is close, the street is quiet, and the balconies are peaceful. The inn is CLEAN, the food is great, and Mari and her staff always go one step further to be of help (yet they are never intrusive). We love our early morning bike rides through the Victorian streets, and at the end of the day, we enjoy a peaceful walk on the beach or boardwalk. By the way, all the rooms have a private bath. We can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Their website has pictures of all their rooms so you can chose your favorite style.

I stayed there in June with my girlfriend and everything was perfect. I have stayed at other B&B's in Spring Lake and they never seemed to live up to expectations but the White Lilac and the inn keeper (Mari) exceeded our expectations. The room was awesome; a 2 room suite with a private balcony, a double sized jacuzzi tub, and a seperate sitting room where they served us breakfast in our room! Mari was very hospitable and gave us beach tags, a beach umbrella, and chairs. The inn is very clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast was delicious. I think this is the best B&B in Spring lake.

Stayed here during Memorial Day weekend and ended up at the room at the top of the stairs as they call it, AWESOME.

First off when you get in the room you'll notice right away the twosome jacuzzi bathtub. My wife is a total shower person, so am I, However I'd be remiss not to mention we used it 4 times in two days, THAT relaxing. Then you have your own private balcony overlooking the neighborhood. Great touch. Room is decorated very well, and very tastefully. White Christmas lights go on cloth overhang on the wall, and it's really pretty when plugged in. Relaxing really. Bed was so soft and so awesome. And very VERY clean.

The innkeeper is all about carousels evidently, and she has carouselesque touches throughout the home and they all tie in nicely together and work well together. Great stuff. She really is big on little touches. You can take bikes out of the shed, and they have locks and chains so you can ride to the beach and about town. And EVERYONE in the town rides bikes that's for sure. Then there are porch swings, iced tea, lemonade, cookies, candies, bags of chips, great touches about through the home.

Breakfast was the only down thing for me. BUT, I'm a chef and a foodie. So an omelet with a tiny bit of vegetables and american cheese, isn't that great. No salt/pepper, no flavor really. But presented well, and the scones/muffins rock. I'd also highly reccomend buying one of their coffee mugs, very cute.

Lastly have the innkeeper make you dinner reservations. She knows places nearby that are amazing that don't even take reservations, and she'll get you in. She's one of those people it makes sense she's an innkeeper, she's really good at it and pays attention to details. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Top room can be noiser if you're not used to it. We live downtown in Pittsburgh, so nothing wakes us up!

It was our first time ever at a B&B, and they were very welcoming from the start. Everything was clean and the house was quiet. It was also in a quiet neighborhood, and very close to the beach (within walking distance). There are railroad tracks very close, but I honestly didn't even hear the train. Breakfast was delicious, homemade pancakes made with fresh blueberries, and a delicious apple crumb muffin. Everyone was friendly and made our stay peaceful and easy.
