“Beach of dreams”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

We visit Stone Harbor on a regular basis from the UK. This year the beach was better than ever. It is heaven to be able to walk or lounge on the excellent beach. The delightful town is close by and vendors are welcoming. Thank you Stone Harbor for another great holiday.

“Check ahead what is going to be open!”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

We decided to stay at a newly opened hotel in Stone Harbor for three days. We arrived September 16th. Only to find that though many of the shops were open the restaurants were not. I had carefully checked web sites before leaving home only to find that almost all except bars and pizza places were closed, a big disappointment.
Walking along the empty beach was pleasant despite the howling gale. It is a delightful little town but nothing to do!

“Stone Harbor is my Happy Place!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Stone Harbor is a great shore town. The beach is beautiful and clean. The sand is soft and there is always ample places to set up your blankets, chairs and umbrellas. We always seem to pick an awesome weather week. It was so hot this summer but there are stands to buy cold drinks at 95/96th street and vendors with rolling carts on the beach. The town is so quaint and it is easy to find your favorite places to eat (Stone Harbor Pizza) and the best ice cream (Springers) just to name a few. I found the perfect sea glass necklace at the Blue Eden shop and great deals on Stone Harbor sweatshirts for the family. Stone Harbor is easy to walk around and great for exercise. We have vacationed in Stone Harbor for 10 years. Love it and as I said this is our happy place!

“Love this beach”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

Avalon, Stone Harbor is the best walking beach. The sand is soft and powdery. The beach is one of the most well kept I have been to; always a machine on the beach in the morning sifting out the junk. We walked 5 miles one day and 4 in the other direction the next. Beautiful.

“Great beach - relaxing- clean”
Reviewed 6 August 2013 via mobile

We loved this beach. It had a great low key vibe. The only issue here is a lack of bathrooms and no changing areas. There is a group of lacking portapottys on 122 street and then a very small bathroom on 95 th street. It took us a few days to figure this out.
