I so very much wanted to love this place. I'd never been to a do-it-yourself frozen yogurt place until visiting family in Chicago last month; my nephew and his friend wanted to go to "Menchie's" after I took them mini golfing. That place blew me away with all the choices and the reasonable pricing, etc., so when I heard there was a do it yourself fro-yo place in Stone Harbor, I couldn't wait to try it. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. They had maybe six flavors of frozen yogurt (and I think a gluten free, and/or sugar free, and sorbet-like choices). Totally BORING. They were like chocolate, "Irish mint," Cookies and Cream, etc. The place I went to in Chicago had literally 20 flavors of yogurt including really creative ones like Cake Batter, Pistachio, Butterscotch, Red Velvet Cake, and on and on and on. It was hard to decide! And the toppings? Maybe 20 toppings total at Bonnie's. The other place, more than 100, to be sure. And the "caramel" topping at Bonnie's was this scary neon-orange translucent stuff...just yuck. I was majorly disappointed at the price, the flavors, the topping choices and the cheap knock-off version of things they used (generic reese's, for example, and the glowing neon "caramel" sauce.) I can't speak to the breakfast and lunch menu items, but hopefully they generate more business for this establishment; it was EMPTY when I stopped in on a Wednesday night while the rest of my family waited in the block and a half long line at Springer's (that's how badly I wanted to try this place). I will definitely not be back.
