Perfect place to spend a romantic evening and enjoy extraordinary fine dining at reasonable prices. The outside dining patio was a great place to sit - toasty warm on a chilly night. The mussels were delicious and an enormous portion - an app suitable for dinner. Chicken with masheds and collard greens was moist an so tasty. The best was the Mac and cheese and pulled pork - great side!

We picked this restaurant to celebrate my husband's (Grandpa's) birthday, because we wanted to include our three small grandchildren and the restaurant has a private room to accommodate us. It was also very convenient place for our family to meet, arriving from Summit, Denville and Manhattan.
The food was excellent, the children and their special requests were accommodated, and the service was also very good.
The room was just big enough for 6 adults and three children and had to be reserved well in advance. The restaurant has a really nice character and warmth. Unfortunately, the private room misses both! That is the only negative, but we would not have wanted to bring the children in the main dining room. We had dinner in their sister restaurant-Tabor Tavern-last month and their private dining room is nicely decorated.

We were lost ! A call to the Tavern and they talked us in from 2 miles away. We arrived to find a pleasant well decorated restaurant full of character and warmth. The staff were a delight. We told them we had arrived late (sorry) and only had 35 minutes before we needed to leave. The service went up 2 gears our food arrived and was lovely, fresh and well presented. We left with 1 minute to spare having enjoyed our visit.

The Huntley Tavern, and the other restaurants owned by Harvest Restaurant Group are known for great food, atmosphere, bars and service. My most recent visit was for lunch on a damp day, but we were still able to sit on the covered porch, a plus. Lunch sliders (three different sandwich fillings), house made pommes frites, and a bloody mary for my dining companion, were all excellent. Would highly recommend this place for couples, friends, celebrations, etc. Book ahead if you want a seat on a Friday or Saturday night!

The Huntley justifies the high prices w locally grown food, but most of time it is just ok, could be good but most times unseasoned. On different occasion, i have had Asian chicken salad, cedar salmon, tuna tartar, swordfish, burger, and mussels. I would only recommend their tuna tartar which has been consistent. Desserts are good. I think the food at Roots or Trap Rock is better (sister restaurants). I wish I could give a better review.
