“Good Food but too Pricey”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Typical fast food fare.Small portions but tasty. Nice atmosphere. You can dine on there benches or get old time car hop service. Also you can come by boat as docks are behind restaurant. I did enjoy food but way too pricy as everything is extra.

“Old-fashioned Car Hop Service”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Stewart's is just plain old-fashioned fun! You can eat on picnic tables under a roof (open air) or in the sunshine (with many tables providing umbrellas for shade, or walk behind the restaurant for a picnic table with a view of The Tuckerton Creek where you can see fish jump, boats head in or out and watch and see gulls soaring. But be careful, those seagulls like Stewarts fries as much as humans and will swoop right down and eat them off your plate! Whatever you do, don't throw scraps to one lonely little gull...within a second he will send out a cry that will bring about 50 more to literally attack your meal! If those tables don't sound like your style, park in the lot, turn on your exterior lights, and the servers will take your order and bring your food to your car with trays that sit on your window.
At one time, this Stewarts was known mostly for burgers and hot dogs with the works. Now they have an abundance of options including fish and chips, salads, and even soups. The sides are delicious and interesting. I love the sweet potato fries and zucchini fries myself. Stewart's is known for its root beer and it is served in a frozen mug. They even have diet, but if you really want to splurge, try a root beer float! There are many other beverages to choose from, so don't worry if you are a coke or lemonade fan. The kids meals are very inexpensive and come in a box that looks like an old fashioned convertible. My son collects them.
This is a relaxing fun experience. On a cool night, bring the family down to listen to some Elvis or 50s music and grab a delicious, inexpensive meal. They have classic car shows frequently and guests walk around and admire the vehicles. A visit to Stewarts feels like stepping back in time, and when those old-fashioned cars fill the parking lot, you'll swear you are back in the era of Happy Days. Those of us who are locals wait with anticipation for opening day, because when Stewarts is open, we know that summer has arrived! I almost hate to reveal our local secret: great food, great prices, fun atmosphere, neighborly folks sitting nearby, with a view in the front of the lake and a view in the back of the creek.

“Must try for old times sake.”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

The burgers etc are better then fast food and their frosted mugs of root beer are the best. Old time car hop service if you don't want to sit under the tent. Service is very good. Hope they stay around for a long time.

“A Must Stop”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

This Stewart's Root Beer is the best around in NJ. Have visited others, but none compare to this one. The food is great and there is something for everyone. There is such a variety on the Menu. It is a must stop on our trip to this area.
