“All perfect bar the wedding party”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

Six of us stayed at Minerals, 3 adult, one teen, and two little ones (4 and 6). The first thing that struck me was the indoor pool which looked beautiful, but do not touch the fountains or the fish tanks, or you will evoke the wrath of the 19 year old life guard. More on the pool later.
The room was very well furbished, it had everything we needed, Our vista was the hills where the slopes cut through the trees, this would have been very relaxing, if it had not been for one thing. The wedding parties, this hotel attracts weddings like bees round honey. So if you expect to sit out on your balcony when the rhythmic thumping of Brad and Donna's 1990's revival, and enjoy a quiet bottle of wine forget it. Next to the pool, first impression was it was a family friendly pool, however after our children were scowled at by the over 60's aqua dance session, we found we were in Gods waiting room dating pool. Be aware that the local residents who paid an awful lot of money for their places are not impressed or welcoming to hotel guests.

Finally the cost to do many of the activities is very high, but being a captive audience there is very little as alternative. As I stated this is great for weddings ,but it is not a hotel for a quiet retreat.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the backside of the hotel and not overlooking the car park, also try and make...

This was one of the many trips that we have taken to the mineral spa. We always come with family and friends and enjoy ourselves. This trip my husband took me for my birthday. We stayed in one of there rooms which was amazing. There was a fireplace and beautiful view from the balcony. We extended our checkout time until 2pm which was a big help. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Champion and chocolate covered strawberries were sent to he room while we were at dinner. This was a great surprise when I returned. We went for breakfast the following morning in one of there restaurants and had an amazing breakfast. The food was well worth it and had great prices. The staff was very friendly. The front office manager J.R McGinnis was amazing. He made sure we had everything that we needed. J.R was a gracious host. He suggested to my husband the spa's "elemental journey". This was amazing you should definitely try this. The pools were clean and the temperature was great. There is an indoor and outdoor pool so weather is never an issue. The mineral spa is a great place to come with family and friends and also for a romantic relaxing vacation. I highly recommend this spa.

My family and myself went to minerals reort and spa and had a great weekend. We relaxed in the many hot tubs and pools and got in a great workout in the fitness area. My wife treated hereself to a spa treatment and had a relaxing experience. Kim, the manager, made our experience even better by being a most gracious host. There is much to do in the area as well so i do reccommend staying the weekend. We had a great time and know that anyone who does stay here will as well.

This was the second stay for a lifelong group of friends, who don't get to see each other too often. The first stay was in October of 2012; a great time was had by all. This visit, our rooms were ready when we arrived before 1:00 p.m., which was a great thing! Two adjoining rooms, one with a kitchenette, afforded us the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company. We did not use the pool or gym facilities, but did get massages at the Elements Spa, which was delightful! We ate dinner at Kites and enjoyed the music and dancing. All in all, a good experience, until check out time. We were billed for more than the price quoted at booking. The manager was not only insistent that I was wrong, he chose to make his phone call regarding this discrepancy in front of our party and was agitated as to "what budget it was coming out of" and the fact that he "may have to eat this." Quite unprofessional, in my opinion. After much discussion, he went back into his office. He came out, rather pleasantly, telling us our original cost was correct. I don't know what transpired in the office, but he should have treated us that way from the beginning.

Good morning ladies!

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay as a whole, and hope that you do choose us again for your future women's getaway.

I was the one that spoke to you upon checkout, and there was by means no agitation to you or your party. Simply, trying to get to the root of the error that was made. After speaking to our Central Reservations Department it was evident that there was a miscommunication on their end and if there was any agitation, it was that we made a mistake and was unable to render you a much more speedy checkout.

I have brought up your case as a training tool to our Reservations Line so this scenario does not occur again.

I do thank you for your review, and hope to see you ladies again soon.

Don't waste your money on an airline ticket, airport shuttle, airline tickets and horrible air travel food...imagine the value of that money spent on SPECTACULAR Spa treatments and delicious gourmet meals instead! Don't waste your precious time getting hurried, hustled and bustled at lovely, scenic, aggravating EWR, JFK, or LGA Airport. You can have a great "tropical" getaway right here in NJ! We left Bergen County by car at 10am Saturday morning, and by 11am, we had arrived, they had our room ready, we checked in and our vacation had begun! We relaxed and swam in the heated indoor/outdoor pool for 2 hours (instead of sitting on a cramped airplane to Florida), baked in the sauna, and then stepped into the Spa for a great raindrop/ aromatherapy shower and our Couples Massage! We went back to the room and took a nap in our luxury suite with gas fireplace and beautiful mountain views! We dressed and went down to dine at Kites and thoroughly enjoyed their gourmet offerings - unusual, fresh and delicious! The whole experience made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise, without all the fuss and expense of air travel! The quaint towns surrounding the resort have interesting little boutique and antique shops to visit, horseback riding, skiing and lots of scenic places to hike, but we were there to relax. We picked up some snacks and breakfast items at the health food store, took in a recent movie from the comfort of our room, and enjoyed hot coffee, tea and our breakfast after sleeping in on Sunday morning. We left feeling as if we had been away for LONG weekend, because we skipped all the hassle and got right to the vacation! You don't need to run far to escape the cold and snow, reduce YOUR carbon footprint, and MAXIMIZE your relaxation at this excellent Resort & Spa. Why ever leave NJ?

Room Tip: All kinds of rooms available. Talk to the front desk - they are the BEST people! During hurricane...

Just got back from a couple days at the Minerals Resort and Spa. We had a great time. here are the pros:

1) The staff is incredibly friendly and genuine. Not just one or two, but pretty much all of them. I travel ALOT and i have to say that i found everyone just fabulous and helpful there.

2) There is so much going on there, the entire family will be happy. I LOVED the pools and i loved the outside heated pool (in the winter)

3) The hotel was very clean and well maintained.

4) Kites Restaurant seemed very nice, but we just had breakfast there.

A couple suggestions:

1) while i LOVE the pool, The smell of chlorine is overpowering. There is no way you can ventilate better? This was the only significant issue. There has to be some way to make it better.

2) I would have put some waiter service at the pool. just a couple would do the trick, especially at the outside pool.

Other than those 2 points, everything was fabulous. thanks for a great weekend.

Hobokel,

Thank you for your intuitive review. I thank you for your kind words and we will endeavor to rectify the issue with the chlorine smell of the pools. I have passed on your comments to our public housekeeping and Maintenance Departments so they can keep a closer eye on out ventilation of our pool areas.

I hope to see you with us again soon and look forward to serving you and your family!

We booked one night here for a Mountain Creek ski weekend and enjoyed it. We stayed with our 2 boys, ages 8 and 11. We picked this hotel because of the proximity to Mountain Creek and for the amenities. Our room was ready at 3pm and we had a deluxe room with 2 queen beds, and a balcony. The beds were comfortable, but not to die for. I would rate it a 3 star hotel. Nice, updated bathroom, standard room features. We were surprised to find that there was a schedule of events happening that day. We enjoyed the Irish Step Dancers that performed at 4pm (free, St. Patrick's Weekend) and the kids enjoyed the magician who performed at 5 in the lobby. We had dinner at the on site restaurant, Kites, and it was good. Make a reservation as this is the only on site dining option. It was fancier than we expected, but they were very family friendly and offered a kids menu. Entrees are around $18-24, kids meals under $10. Friendly wait staff. We booked a raquet ball court after dinner and had fun family time ($10 for the court for one hour, $5 rental per raquet). The pool was a must for us and the inside pool was spacious and fun for the kids. There is a fun swim out feature that allows you to jump in indoors, then swim through a curtain to get to the outside pool. This was great! We were all in the outdoor pool which is 95F, under the stars with snow all around us. Very fun feature. It's a great place for families. There is also a free shuttle (blue) bus that will take you back and forth to Mountain Creek for skiing and activities. My kids thought this was fun.

Room Tip: It's a big hotel. If the pool or other amenities are important to you, ask for a room near that...
