The NY Waterway Ferry was easy to utilize, quite convenient and just a lot of fun. The interior was very clean and comfortable, and in the summer weather standing on the bridge outside was a perfect spot for photos or to enjoy the wind & weather.

Stayed at the Sheraton in Weehawken, NJ steps from the ferry dock. It's a short trip to NYC, keep your ticket and you can take one of their buses to various locations in NYC. Can also catch the bus back to the ferry docks. We walked from Manhattan to the ferry which was beautiful. The start of the High line park is close as well. A definite must see. The ferry is over. 9.00 one way- buy the 10 pack to save about 2.50/trip.

The schedule is very accurate and you can count on the ferry being on time. It was very convenient. The buses that take you from the ferry to midtown were not exactly clean, but it is public transportation so you have to take what you get.

We live about twenty minutes from the city and we usually take the ferry into the city. If you're from Jersey it's a nice drive into Weehawken and the facility has some little places to eat and places to sit while you wait. The ferries run in 20 minute intervals until I believe around 1:00 in the morning (at least on weekends I believe). If you're paying for one person it's not too bad of a price but for a family it gets a little pricey. If you don't like driving around the city or you don't know your way around the ferry is a good and scenic mode of transportation. The ferries are clean and accommodate a large group of people. You can sit inside or outside on the top. (I prefer the top) It's a very quick trip and once you get into the city, the facility there also has bathrooms and kiosks as well. They also provide free buses that take you to wherever you need to get to from the ferry station. Not a bad deal. It's very easy to do and works well for people looking for a quick and simple way into the city.

Be aware of the boat you board - if you get on one of the boats that has a full canopy, you will have much difficulty seeing the fireworks. One of the boats is the “Empire State” (not sure if it’s still in service). Compounding the situation is all the people on the boat will be crowding into every available space to try to see which just adds to the discomfort.

The cost did not seem like a good value - I paid alot for me and my family and was gravely disappointed.

Full Disclosure – I love NY Waterway and I ride them a couple of times a week throughout the year. They provide excellent service day-in and day-out and I had high hopes for the July 4th cruise based on my previous experience with them.

I also reached out to their customer service which was very responsive before the cruise, but non-existent when I complained about our experience – nice job.
