The good: Stayed one night for a wedding nearby. Room was very clean. Checkin easy. Concierge lounge closed on Friday afternoon but front desk gave us snacks from the gift shop. Buffet breakfast had usual items which was included for Gold members; server was very friendly. Front desk friendly as well. Hotel was crowded due to other events; but did not experience any noise from the hallway as were were in the last room down the hall (Room 772 concierge level). Huge storm just when it was time to leave for the wedding; front desk provided complimentary umbrellas to get to the car; nice touch. Shower pressure was wonderful; wish all Marriotts had this.

In-room coffee was tasty; there should be more than one caffinated packet since they are single serve packets. Complimentary coffee in the lobby is available; but who wants to get dressed and go downstairs at 4:30 in the morning (couldn't sleep; see below).

Two complaints:

This is a complaint from every Marriot we have ever stayed in. You get an e-mail a few days early asking for any requests. We always request extra towels in the room upon arrival. (Why have three towels for two people in a king room; makes no sense; why not include the fourth towel.). Even with the request made as part of our Gold member profile and the e-mail response with the virtual concierge, there are never any extra towels in the room.

Room 772 had a strange noise from the time we arrived to the time we left. It was so loud and hard that the pictures in the room vibrated. Felt like a small earthquake every 15 to 20 minutes without stop. It wasn't the elevator nor did it come from another room. Very strange; could not sleep the entire evening. At first we thought is was thunder due to a severe storm that occurred around 5 pm; however, the storm cleared quickly, but the noise continued throughout the evening and morning. We alerted the front desk and hope that there will be follow-up so that future guests can get a restful night. This was the worst evening at a Marriott just because we could not sleep.

Staying and the Marriott Hanover for business purposes almost every month, the hotel is always very clean and well maintained .The lobby area was lately renovated and it looks really nice with a modern chick. The staff is always great and ready to help.

The rooms are always clean , great beds (sleeping their better than in my home bed...) and typical Marriott style that trying to provide you an "home" sensation.

Breakfast is always superb with a lot of varieties , but I really like the Irish pub at the lobby, it provide you the ability to have a cold beer and eat nice dinner after returning at from a long day at office day.

Will be always my first hotel choice at the area.

Excellent service, made requests in our reservation online, everything was taken care of in advance. Very clean & comfortable rooms. Excellent restaurant. Nice pool area. Very Very pleased. Easy check-in and checkout.

Nice hotel for business or pleasure...I heard the restaurant is good, but I chose to eat of sight - ruth chris is across the street, ARthurs Steak house in Morris Plains is only 10 min drive. I should have asked for a room near the elevator, - holiday weekend and the hotel appeared empty...front desk were great with greeting and making you feel welcome, Nice couches in lobby if you are waiting for someone. Very clean, quiet - easy to find off the highway, there is another Marriott right down the street, don't get them mixed up.

My experience with this hotel this past weekend was fabulous. My daughters wedding was in the area and we choose this hotel over many others for our guests to stay. We are so glad we did. Our party occupied about 68 rooms. From the beginning of our dealings with Tuscany Modesto, we were treated tremendously well. She was most accomodating . Throughout the planning stages she was always quick with a response to any question. Once there, Tuscany and her staff couldn't have been nicer. Everything ran smoothy from the giving out of our wedding boxes to guests, to the shuttles running correctly, to a wonderful brunch Sunday morning. This hotel and their staff was fantastic!!!
