First time in Wildwood and obviously, the Boardwalk is the main attraction besides the beach. Well I know people hate the repetitive and cheesy t-shirt shops that line the boardwalk. And the greasy food and the tram car but hey, this is the boardwalk....not Rodeo Drive! We walked the boardwalk every night and we had a great time people watching, eating ice cream, Curley's Fries, Morey's Piers. It was really like all the many songs and stories you hear and read about the Jersey Shore! The kids loved it and enjoyed the atmosphere. Friday nights there are fireworks which are nice and last 10 - 15 minutes. What I hate are people who expect top-notch shopping and 5-star dining on the Boardwalk for little money. Sorry, but you want that, go to Disney's 5-star resorts or Atlantis in the Bahamas. I have been to all of them and each have their individual pros and cons. If you want great shopping, hop in the car and drive 50 minutes to Atlantic City like we did!
Wildwood's Boardwalk was enjoyable and easy-going. Basically, it came as advertised. As for the beach, I personally prefer the turquoise waters of the Caribbean where you can see the bottom. I guess it is a fear of what lurks beneath...lol. The beach itself is HUGE. And It is very clean. They keep the shore very clean and I really enjoyed the early morning walks on the silk sand. We will return to Wildwood.
