Great spot, they just need better WiFi. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. My family has been coming here since the mid 1960's. Very close to the beach with a nice ingroung pool. it is a nice quiet spot for a family vacation.

We couldn't arrange our vacation for a Sat. - Sat. stay, which is the only way you can rent a condo or house on the Shore. Instead, we rented one of the two BR with kitchen rooms at the Ala Kai. The room fixtures are a bit dated and spartan but the room itself was very clean and appeared to have been recently painted. In fact, the hotel exterior looked recently painted and attractive. The kitchen area is quite small and there is little space for storing your own stuff, though there is a full size frig, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, small range and oven. Room AC worked well and there were ample clean towels daily. Decent TV and wireless Internet. Mattress was firm and felt new(ish). The pool area was clean and the pool chairs were cleaned well every morning. Very short walk to the sand. Fairly quiet room tho if we go again I'd try to get an upper floor room, but that would be less convenient for moving in/out. Very friendly and accommodating owner and staff. In short, no frills but a clean, safe, comfortable room at very reasonable prices.
Since the mid 1960's my husband, Bill, has been visiting Wildwood Crest and staying at the Ala Kai Motel. In the 60's he was a child and thirty years later he brought his wife and children to the beach and, of course, we stayed at the Ala Kai. It's relaxing. We stay in a room with a kitchen. It is truly a slice of 'home away from home'. Impeccable rooms and pool, friendly and courteous staff and a mere block from the ocean! What more could one ask for? I only ever recommend the Ala Kai to family and friends when they mention a Wildwood Beach excursion.
Stayed here with wife and kid for a couple nights. Staff was helpful and friendly. Location to beach was very close 150-200 ft until you hit the sand. Inground pool was clean and is cleaned daily. Rooms were mostly clean and average. Only things i noticed were boxspring under mattress was dirty. When i say dirty i mean from being outdated or for not having a bedskirt. Other thing was lamp shade over tv top of it was brown crusted dirt.Im not a picky person maybe if they had a bed skirt to cover it up wouldnt of even thought about it. Overall i dont think it was a housekeeping issue more like room not being updated. This is a hotel for people to sleep and be out at beach all day and boardwalk all night. Will i ever stay here again? probably not.
I needed a room on very short notice. I was given their best room at the basic room rate which impressed me. I felt like family when we checked in. Yes, the room is a bit old fashioned but it was clean, the AC was ice cold and our bedroom was quiet even though we were right at the pool. Loved the full size fridge and the great water pressure for our showers. Loved being on the beachblock and the beach around there was not crowded. Priced very reasonably for a great location. We had a very good experience here for sure.
We stayed at the Ala Kai after storms knocked out our power in Linwood. The staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. The location was quiet as the Ala Kai is located far from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk area. We would definitely recommend the Ala Kai to anyone going to Wildwood/Wildwood Crest.
