“Great fun for the young ones.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

My family and I went on the pirate voyage after buying a deal through either groupon or living social. We all had such a fun time! The kids sit in the front of the ship while the parents are more towards the back (the ship is nicely secured so safety of them falling overboard really isn't much of an issue). The actors were great and kept the kids (and adults involved). My 6 year old found it more interesting than my 3 year old (who was more impressed with the other boats in the bay). The water cannon fight and finding treasure at the end was the highlight. Each of my boys chose a piece of 'gold' out of the chest that they play with at home. You can buy some pirate gear at the ticket area (we bought 2 pirate hand hooks for the total cost of about $15 so very reasonable). Face painting was available before and after the voyage. Highly recommend for those with elementary age kids.

“Great fun for kids to age 8 or 9 (and parents!)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2013

Our group (four adults plus four kids ages 4 through 8 - probably the maximum age I'd recommend for kids) had a great time. The pirates really throw themselves into their act wholeheartedly, and they make sure to include every kid and even the adults in the interactive fun. The joking banter and action are non-stop. We had tried to go on the cruise last August but ran into a terrible rainstorm shortly after leaving the dock. The Pirate Captain turned the ship around, and graciously gave us vouchers to attend again. The weather cooperated for our do-over, and we're so glad we tried again.

“Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of...FUN!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

Not too much I can add that hasn't been said. The crew did a terrific job keeping the kids entertained all throughout the cruise. There's even oppotunities for the parents to get involved so if you want to embarrass/impress your kids you have your chances. The water cannon fight toward the end was an absolute blast for the kids.
My tips:
- Make reservations as there's always a strong chance your desired hour of sailing will fill up
- Arrive at least 30-40 minutes early so you can find parking on the street and give the kids a chance at the face painting
- Find a coupon book and use the $3 off per person coupon
- Kids 10 and younger are best suited for the cruise. Older ones may not be as interested
- Use the bathrooms before getting on board

“6 is the perfect age!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

My 6 year old son loved this and so did I! Stories, treasure, high seas battle (he got to shoot a cannon looking water gun at an "attacking" boat) & limbo. Cute & very fun! We also had a 12 year old with us who was not as impressed.
