exactly, just enough for what you need. we bought groceries at acme. and did lunch in the room. it was a 5 min walk from beach, staff was nice, breakfast in resturant was decent ( not included in room ) -- just a simple place. only issue couldnt get my hot spot wifi to work. no biggie.

Room Tip: its very retro but the price is great for being so close to the beach. wild wood can be expensive!

Had a Great 1st experience with my family here..Room was very clean, albeit the Motel is somewhat outdated in its interior decor. I like the fact that it did not have those old style drapes in the windows - they DID have Vertical Blinds - Nice UPDATE!..It would be great if they started replacing the carpets so as to have a linoleum floor or ceramic tiles like the newer outfits..Just suggestions that would make a world of difference.

My kids enjoyed the pool & play area..Staff was very nice..Close to beach & good little pancake house attached.

I have been a patron of The Admiral for many years. Upon my return there this summer I was most pleased with the casual family friendly atmosphere I have grown accustomed to here. Over the past few years I have noticed that there have been a number of incremental improvements to The Admiral with improved wifi, a refurbished deck, and a decent restaurant right on the premises among the most recent. As is always the case, The Admiral is in a choice location nestled in Wildwood Crest just a block away from the beach and minutes to the famous Wildwood Boardwalk as well as Sunset Lake. You have to walk a good bit if you're looking for a convenience store - but I can live with that. And on a final note, the staff of The Admiral are always there to ensure my comfort and answer any questions I may have - most especially Gene. Papo is the friendly maintenance man who mingles with the guests and answers every beck and call. I practically consider them second family. No, The Admiral is not 'The Ritz' but it's comfortable and reasonably priced with competent and courteous help. Highly recommended.

one of the best features of this hotel is its congenial front desk staff (specifically, most of the time we have interacted has been with matt and morgan, altho other personnel have also helped). if you were to have any needs, they are at the ready to help.

we very much appreciate that our room had a refrigerator, coffeepot, microwave. i am on a restricted diet, so being able to bring in some of my own foods is a big plus-the refrigerator was decent sized, even tho this was not considered an "efficiency" apartment room.

the pool is kept very clean.
the deck with the miniature golf course and ping pong tables is very good. the grills in the bbq area look great (altho we did not use them yet, it is a great asset).

another good feature is the location-it is only the second building up from the beachfront, the bradley bike rental is directly across the street, (the bike path and morning boardwalk ride are a must for the true crest experience), the public restrooms for the beach are there on the street also, and the visitor info building.

tripadvisor lists this box to fill in: "Add a tip to help travelers choose a good room" ....
i hope that each time we return that we will be able to secure a room on one of the end hallways, and at least on the third floor. we really truly appreciated this year's reservation, partial ocean view, third floor-as we are older, retired, and appreciated very much the quiet area this afforded.
it is a lot more money than the other type rooms, so be prepared to pay for this type of location.

a reminder: this hotel provides clean towels every day, and a little travel bar of soap, but you will need to bring your own shampoo, soap, creams, etc. with you.

a side note: look each day for "the fruit man"-one or two trucks drive around the area with FRESH delicious fruits of all kinds....great to bring to the beach with you.

If you're looking for a cheap motel vacation, this is it. Don't expect any bells or whistles. It appears to have not been updated in at least twenty years. The furniture, bathroom, bedding, televisions and walls are antiquated! Very motel six! The one tv is a magnivox that doesn't even have a remote.... U have to get up and change channels! The microwave was rusted in the back, the tile was crumbling on the bathroom, the pool is a small pool, which only gets up to four feet deep and the elevator is tiny, old and smells! On a positive note, it has a nice kids play area... Overall, you can do better for the price... Will not be coming back!

My Family visited the Admiral after hearing glowing reviews from friends who go there annually. Our visit lived up to their reviews. The staff was very attentive to all of our needs, the front desk was helpful in providing insider tips (it helped that the attendant was a Crest "lifer") and recommended some tucked away spots for dinner and entertainment. The view of theocean from the balcony was impressive, especially at sun rise. The Admiral Restaurant served up tasty food for both breakfast and lunch, but bring your appetite, and try the pancakes..The Admiral was a great place for our family trip and we will be coming back.
