Beach Colony Resort Motel

Havent been to the beach in years. Booked this Hotel as they accepted animals and is handicap accessible, as my dog is blind. Staff very friendly and accommodating in whatever we requested, extra towels, a roll away bed so everyone had own bed etc. Witnessed Pool and outside guest grills cleaned daily. Multiple picnic tables w/ Umbrellas to enjoy your food outside as well as many lounge chairs within pool area. Hotel must be well insulated as once in the room outside noises vanished. Very roomy and comfortable. Clean Rooms, no bugs, no fleas, no animal odors. Right next to Beach - places to eat walking or Trolley distance - boardwalk also close. Pool is even open past 9 pm. - Family oriented as well as good time music playing all around. We suggest you call directly as Hotels has different types of room, connecting rooms, 2 rooms, kitchens, etc to best accommodate your stay. Kim, mgr, does everything humanly possible to make your stay the best it can be - always asking how things were going when she was on her rounds. Kim was always available even if you just wanted to talk or find out where the best places to go were. Lindsay was the most friendliest housekeeper I have encountered in a long time. Both Kim & Lindsay took the time and showed us the different rooms so we could describe to family and friends on future stays. Coupon books and newspapers available in office. To Lola's Beach Colony...THANK YOU for having us. We will go back.

Room Tip: Hotel has multiple different rooms - Eff. / 2 rooms / connecting rooms - all to assist in accommadat...

One of our best vacations ever! A charming little motel surrounded by big box condo's. A definite 70's vibe, orange & yellow décor. Older, but clean. I did not see one ant, flea, bedbug or mosquito. Most guests had a pet or two, it was fun to see all the dogs. Very family oriented, a really nice place for people on a budget. Quite a few families cooked large meals, ate outside, played games, & some brought their elderly wheelchair bound relatives. The housekeeper Lindsey was a doll, I trusted everything in the room with her there. The manager Kim was very nice & helpful, and Lola looked like she was a Broadway star back in the day. The walk to the beach was a breeze, the trolley to the boardwalk was close, the park was nearby, bike rentals & some eateries were within walking distance. I felt very safe there, and let my 2 teens roam freely in the day. Most people I spoke to at the Beach Colony have been coming there for years. We got an efficiency for 4 people and two dogs. It had a nice size fridge, 2 burner stove, small micro, table & chairs, two chairs on the balcony for relaxing. The pool was well taken care of. I think if they are planning on staying there more than a few years, they should get some new mattresses, one of ours wasn't too comfy for an older person, we let our kids have that one. I hope they don't sell soon, they provide a very nice affordable place for people to take a vacation. I met a single Mom, large families who didn't want a large dinner bill, families with their relatives in other rooms, families that couldn't take a trip and pay for a kennel & a fancy dinner bill, too. A short drive to all the Boardwalk fun, but away from all the noise and tackiness. If you need a fancier place that accepts pets and want to spend $100 more per night, go for it. I would rather spend my money on a good dinner out or on the Boardwalk.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor with 2 dogs, and one does not like the steps. She was little, no proble...

The worst experience we have had, we went to this hotel for the reviews that people had written, and because they accepted dogs and we have two, but upon arrival we realized that Lola the owner is not right in the head, the room smelled dog urine, the carpet was all stained, old furniture and appliances such as microwave, refrigerator were in bad condition, as a result we could not stay, we lost our deposit but we prefer to go with our dogs to another hotel where we feel more comfortable. We would not recommend at all!

The room was older but immaculate. So close to the beach! Glad to have a place to bring our dog. Lola was very sweet and welcoming and endeared herself to us -- being a German Shepherd owner. We asked for some extra towels and a good supply was provided right away. Would recommend to families who do not want to let their pooch miss out on the fun at the shore.

Room Tip: First floor two room efficiency was a little snug for four adults. But suited us fine!

This motel was the best. We were able to have our dogs with us and it is on the beach. The staff was very nice. Lola the owner made you feel very welcome. It is a older motel but fits in with Wildwood Do Wop . The pool is a good size and very clean.

If you are looking for lodging that is reminiscent of an era gone by that allows you to bring your four legged companion, Beach Colony is your destination. It's location at the beach, refreshing pool, authentic decor from the 1950's (yes, a little loved!) yet clean and comfortable at a reasonable price made my family's beach vacation very enjoyable.
The owners, Sergio and Lola are worth the price of admission themselves. They have a wonderful story to share and are animal lovers themselves. If you need information about rooms, pricing or have any questions about your stay, you need to ask for Kim, the manager who can take care of all your needs.
Yes, their reservation process is a bit archaic, however, go with an open mind and ask questions.
If you are not a smoker, which we are not, (we stayed in Room 29) the room smelled fresh and clean. However, there were many friendly smokers sitting out on the balcony enjoying a beer, smoke and conversation.
If I return to Wildwood, we will stay with Sergio, Lola and all their pets!

Room Tip: Room 29 was away from all the other rooms on the second floor with a view of the ocean and slept 6 o...

What a great place and location. We enjoyed it and will return. Great old Wildwood feel and loved the fact we were beach block plus a nice size pool. In the evening we grilled on the bbq and sat out on the deck. Easy to go back and forth from beach and pool . Very Clean and Friendly management. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to enjoy a relaxing time but close enough to go to Cape May or the boardwalk.
