We stayed in Main Camp in a Rondawell. It was a bit small, but clean and very functional. Nice deck, but a bit chilly to sit out at night waiting for the elephants at the water hole. We lucked out on our last night and saw an 'elephant parade' come down the hill to the water hole. At least 40 elephants and babies too --- what a great experience.
No guaranties, but we were lucky with a few key sightings.

Spent a couple of nights in the rondavels, beds good, bathroom en suite. Fridge on verandah which you keep locked so the monkeys don't pinch food. Lovely sitting on the verandah looking at the waterhole. bbq facility and communal kitchen with own lockable cupboard with dishes etc.
Restaurant if needed and also shop with necessities for bbq etc. Enjoyed the driving around the park in our own car, saw lots of elephants and other animals including dungbeatles which were fascinating to watch. They did have tours in early morning and evening in trucks. Always put up daily sightings of animals and where they were seen so others could see.

Do not get me wrong it is a great park and the accommodation is perfect. We stayed in the tents at the waterfront. We thought to see a lot of animals during the morning and night but unfortunately this didn't
happen, we have heard stories though from visitors they did. You can enter they park by own car or via a guided tour. We did one guided tour and 2 days we drove on our own. Elephants, kudu, zebras are easy to spot. However if you want to see the lion, rhino or leopard you have to be very lucky. To be honest it is almost impossible, there are only 9 lions and the area and it is about 1rd of the Netherlands. Nevertheless it is a great park to drive trough and 2 or 3 days are easy to fill. Our guided tour was also nice and we even spotted an "spotted hyena"! There are no giraffes because the Forrest is not highs enough so difficult to eat for them. The morning drive is an absolutely recommendation.

We also stayed one night in the Spekboom tent an absolute must do! You are in the middle of the camp so you need to be in at 6. No power or ore facilities so the braai you will need to use.

The braai is anyway the best to use if you stay in the park because the restaurant food is not very high quality. The spareribs come with fries which are not baked long enough and the mojito we ordered was not fresh made but from a "packed" juice. Overall it was ok but not upmarket and prepare your own food on the braai is nicer anyway :-). The dessert homemade cheesecake was the best!

We will definitely visit the park again if we are close. Book your accommodation on time since it is busy all the year.

Outside the park is a nice restaurant called lenmore. Nice for lunch after visiting the park and take the exit gate at southern gate and then the right to addo.

We have spent five separate visits to the Addo Elephant Park. It is on a small scale;only indigenous animals to the region and the Big Seven including whales and sharks.
It is managed superbly and we, as South Africans, would highly recommend it to all tourists wanting to experience wild life.

Room Tip: Try to overlook the watering hole if possible, at the Addo Camp.

We stayed one night in a rondavel at Rest Camp and found it to be very comfortable. We enjoyed our outdoor seating/eating area and had a lovely happy hour as the sun set, followed by a nice breakfast in the morning. Beautiful. We enjoyed chatting with other guests. The rondavel itself was comfortable, with a good bed, nice bathroom and vanity area and a place for our bags. It is not luxurious but very comfortable. I had booked a rondavel to overlook the water hole, but never saw an animal at the hole, so might as well have booked another kind of accommodation as not. The accommodation is reasonably expensive for what it is, compared to B & B's, but the location for game viewing is great.

We camped in the tent sites. They are smallish, but for 2 people it worked very well, fitting our tent, car (Nissan Tida), a braai, a skottel and the table very comfortably. The ablutions and kitchen are kept very clean. There are sinks, urns and hobs available for campers. It is walking distance to anywhere in the camp. Game in the area is plentiful. We saw 3 black rhino at the waterhole, and were even kept awake by the lions on 2 of our 3 nights! We were also visited by a porcupine during the night. We found that Gorah Loop was the best for game-viewing. We saw lion, caracal, hyena, kudu, bushbuck, eland, warthog and others on this route. This was a very good value-for-money holiday!!!

Room Tip: T1 and T2 are smaller. T3, 4 and 5 are probably best.

If you want to see Elephant's come and drink at the waterhole in front of your rondavel, please book this. You Will not regret it, its also very comfortable with a shower, a fridge for your wines and your private patio and bbq/braai. I Woke up hearing the cry of the jackal, that is simply priceless. Expect to see large troops of elephant's coming toghtere, you Will most probably not see lions but you van see hyena's during the night tour. Very cool place.
