Oxtail, tripe, and curries add to a menu which provides a good variety of South African food. The oxtail was particularly tasty and well presented. Our party of seven all enjoyed the dishes. The wine list is broad and should suit all requirements. Well worth a visit.

The food is great, but in peak season you end up waiting 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, and 90 minutes for a meal to arrive. Avoid during peak season.

Always visit this restaurant when Iwe are in Jeffreys Bay to visit the family - great oudoor space, lovely decorations of the past and delicious food and good service - there is also a selection of gifts and homebaked goods to buy. Parking no problem. Outdoor space to watch the passersby as well.

Gisters is well known for their traditional boerekos. Beautifully decorated with different appliances and memorabilia from days gone by. The menu is well balanced with various options for breakfast, light lunches and home baked pies, breads, cakes and puddings. They have a special pensioners menu on Tuesdays which includes breakfast, a choice of lunches which includes a glass of wine or cake with tea or coffee. Their rooster koek is a big favourite. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and definitely worth visiting.

If you like plates stacked high with traditional home cooked egte boerekos then Gisters will appeal to you. We go for dishes like tomatoe bredie, oxtail etc which are very good. End off with malva and custard and you're set for your afternoon nap. Their rooster koek is also a favourite.
