Picture perfect in every way, Angala is a one of a kind experience in a truly unique setting. Everywhere we looked on arrival was stunning. From the styling of the recently renovated villas, to the spaciousness of the bedrooms and bathrooms (especially the free-standing double bath) to the serenity and size of the mountains and vineyards on entry. The restaurant meal for dinner was an experience and definitely 1st class as was an eco-pool swim -the perfect way to refresh after a family wedding. Our coffee pod machine got a heavy workout as did the complimentary mini-bar which was re-stocked daily. I also had to convince my 16 year old not to pack the hotel cat with us after taking up residence at our villa during our 3 perfect days here.
Spectacular, breathtaking scenery with spacious, modern accommodation. Definitely, one for the bucket list if you’re ever in the Cape Town area.

Room Tip: No laundry service on weekends. On- site restaurant not open for lunch or Sunday evenings however t...

I instantly fell in love with this place. Had a huge room with an outdoor shower, a lovely bathtub plus two more indoor showers (ok, sounds over the top, but the outdoor one was brilliant). Even the most minor detail is thought of. The food is perfect, the right mix between creative and home style. An adorable spot, I am definitely going back there. Even the receptionist's cat seemed to have had proper staff training.

Room Tip: Get the one with the outdoor shower and garden.

approx 3k up a track/ road outside franshcoek is this great place, beautifully designed meaning unique combination of modern clean architecture, mixed with the history and amazing views of the area.
very peaceful, the staff were all lovely from the lady running it (who used to won it) through to all the staff.
the rooms are spacious, incredibly peaceful, and finished with lasting contemporary style … for example brushed concrete floor, industrial sized shower heads, outdoors showers in panelled wood strips etc.
a definite 5/5.

Room Tip: luxury rooms have views across a small pond/./ lake and mountains set in back. rooms 1 is at end and...

This is a very special place to stay. We went based on a friends referral and we were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful in a perfect location!!! We had a hire car which was very handy to explore the area by ourselves. However, the hotel offers a great value taxi service which also extends to offer personal wine tours. The manager is excellent and his knowledge and personal recommendations were spot on...do take time to sit with him and hear his ideas. We took his advice, being a young married couple, to go to 'Spice Routes' and we loved it!!!!

The hotel is lovely and clean, has a perfectly balanced quiet feel even when busy and fully embraces the relaxation and atmosphere of such a special place in the country. We only ever ate breakfast as we chose to make the most of the area and eat out, however this was very well cooked and a delicious start to days full of cheese and wine!!

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough to people visiting the area. Such a perfectly positioned hotel in this valley. Enjoy your stay!!!

I think the reviews speak for themselves because Angala really did provide the perfect combination of location, accommodation and hospitality! It is tucked away in a secret haven tucked back in the solace of the bush and shadows of the picturesque mountains. The guest houses were pristine, featuring great style, abundant comfort and outstanding practicality. Beds were large, comfortable and had lovely percale sheets which made for an amazing night's sleep. Large bathrooms with large tub and glass shower, two basins and even and outdoor shower out on our back deck was a nice touch. Excellent amenities, Charlotte Rhys soaps and lotions, full mini bar and flatscreen TV with full channels. The garden and exterior provided lots of beautiful areas for relaxation and reflection as well as walking and exploring. A favourite feature was the eco-pool which was all natural and decorated with tall grass, lilly pads and flowers which also acted as a natural filter and added great atmosphere. Complete with frogs, tadpoles and dragonflies as natural habitants of the pool it made for a truly invigorating swim; leaving you feeling energized and refreshed! The inside of the main guest lodge did not disappoint either.. With a modern yet cozy flair, it made you feel right at home. The food and wine menu were outstanding! The food was delicious to say the least and so well presented.. Both breakfast and dinner! Our servers were great, always assuring we were enjoying our experience and well taken care of. After dinner, the one chef, Marlin, came by all the tables to have a quick word with each guest and assure that their meal was well enjoyed which was so personable and nice to see. The rest of the staff were simply excellent, starting with Anne who helped us book into a room and personally escorted us to our room when we arrived, Aubrey who hosted us at our meals was delightful and very knowledgable about the food and local area and always provided great conversation in passing, and finally the housekeeping staff were so helpful and kind and provided full turndown service and were always helpful with requests. I cannot describe all the great aspects of our stay but can only suggest that you visit and experience it for yourself because it is like nothing else! Thanks again to everyone at Angala for everything!

A beautifully, tastefully decorated hotel with every comfort. I regard it as excellent value for money: fine accommodation, food and drink at fair prices. The views are wonderful and the position is just perfect. Equidistant from Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl, it the perfect point from which to visit the Cape Winelands. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We had room 6. Spacious with wonderful views
