We enjoyed our breakfast at the Salmon Bar, although it was more standard fare without much in the way of salmon. It was also a little chilly and although there were heaters, the wind crept in along the canvas enclosure which was where the two seaters are situated. The breakfasts were good and the fresh toasted bread delicious. A fair option among the many in the main street.

If the only reason to go to the Salmon Bar is for its Salmon then this establishment will hit the spot! Owned by Three Streams, a trout farm in Franschhoek, the salmon/trout can't be any fresher! The eggs benedict on sourdough with salmon were lovely and tasty! Our friends had salmon omelettes and thoroughly enjoyed them too! Great coffee too! On the downside, not much ambience as the venue is long and narrow and has no views however the service was efficient and the deli has great take-away options!

We have used the Salmon Bar in Franschhoek for a long time and have enjoyed it thoroughly.

However, it's now under new ownership and we we fearful about any change. Shouldn't have worried.

The menu now includes great specialities. Have just really enjoyed Red Roman for lunch. Beautiful fush dish.

Many nice touches and,in a highly competitive culinary high street, this restaurant is, as they are inclined to say, ticks all the boxes!

Thoroughly enjoyable,

Doug Pitt

Stopped by after walking the Franschhoek Main Street for a relaxing lunch. Could have sat in the yard under the trees but chose the balcony. Service was welcoming and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed the pate and the smoked trout was full of flavours. Bought some salmon fillets from the deli and it was excellent.

we always enjoy salmon bar but this time it was just so extra lovely to be sitting in the warm winter sunshine under the fig tree in the yard and enjoy a great lunch. We had the oxtail soup as a starter which turned out to be a serious portion of oxtail stew rather. Simply perfect and I loved the carrots and beans.

I ordered one of the specials of the day which was seared salmon on a garden salad. Enjoyed every moment of it, fresh, fresh, perfectly prepared with a sesame crust, sitting nicely on a light, green salad with apple.

We ended the menu with a sinful lemon meringue and great espresso.

Perfect location, great food and super friendly service - loved it!
