“Eco-friendly and beautiful cabins.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013

We spent a weekend in the Everlasting Daisy cabin. This cabin appears to be the most private and has uninterrupted views. The cabin itself is amazing. It is modern and bright and the views from every room and the deck are to die for. The waterless, composting toilets were fine, and didn't smell when the fan was turned on. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the never ending huge amount of flies in the cabin. I'm not sure if it is the time of year, the waterless toilets or just this cabin, but the flies can get really irritating during the day. Since there are only 5 cabins it truly was peaceful and quiet and very relaxing. We were able to get intermittent limited cellphone reception in the main bedroom, but no where else.

“Eco friendly accommodation at its best , situated near Kleinmond (not Franschoek).”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2013

Only 5 self catering chalets are available, so booking early is essential. The chalets have a modern look but emphasise the importance of looking after the environment. The roofs are covered in grass, solar panels provide hot water and the toilets are odourless and waterless so totally eco-friendly. Over 200mm of rain the previous week prevented us from hiking the many trails due to washaways but the setting in the midst of the mountains, the bird calls and the floral splendour made our stay memorable. We will certainly be back.

“AMAZING ECO-CABINS IN THE WILDERNESS!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

Amazing few nights away in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve. Firstly, the cabins are amazing! Modern, light & spacious with amazing outside space for braaing, reading & relaxing. A great deal of thought has been put into the design of these cabins and they are truly beautiful. We had really cold weather and the fireplace did the trick and warmed the lounge/kitchen up really well. On the downside the bedrooms/bathrooms are across the outside area and are not connected to the lounge/kitchen so we can to run to the toilet outside in the rain! Bad design! Their are drop toilets which are very clean and once you are over the strangeness of it, it will be a perfectly normal activity! The bedrooms are really small but you not spending much time in them anyway so it won't become an issue. The hikes/walks are incredible. Some of them follow the Palmiet River which is unbelievably picturesque and beautiful!

“Heavenly”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

This is nature at its best- an absolutely beautiful river that can be swum in on warm days, fynbos and a soul-enriching easy hike along the river and into the mountains.

I just LOVE this place

“Amber Tree Backpackers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

Not all tourists want to stay in upmarket hotels or guesthouses. My stay in the ''economy class'' backpacker accommodation at Amber tree was most pleasant. The interior and exquisite mini gardens are fabulous and the view of Table Mountain is very good. The atmosphere alone makes a stay here worth much more than what you pay for. (Definitely not the noise often associated with backpackers.) It is close to whatever you need and I can recommend it.
