“Vineyards picnic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Nice picnic on one of the old Franschhoek farms that produce some excellent wines. Big draw for us was the walled-in area with jungle gym for the kids. Picnic basket with cold meats, salads, cheeses and bread. Wines/drinks purchased separately. All good; would not mind returning.

“Kiddies pizza to remember”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014 via mobile

The Kiddies 3 small pizzas were delicious not to mention the lamb shank special that fell off the bone and the trout that was cooked to perfection. That all makes the slow but friendly service to be a slight irritation.
The jungle gyms were a hit with my kids and made it easier for the adults to enjoy their meal.

“Bistro to Remember - for all the right reasons!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014 via mobile

A group of us arrived without a booking and were quickly accommodated at this intimate Bistro without any hesitation. A cosy Bistro with a family feel to it m, the service was excellent and the food wonderful. There was something for everybody (and we are a fussy bunch). The manager was welcoming and although he was very busy in the kitchen, took the time to chat to us, recommend places of interest locally and to make sure the service and food was to our liking. We had a wonderful meal, we felt relaxed and we were not rushed. We will certainly be back!

“food fair enough, service slow”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2014

We managed to get a Sunday lunch booking the day before (which makes you wonder).
At first we noticed the wine glasses being unpolished (not dirty) and then it took the waiter 15 minutes to take our drinks order.
Starters: My wife and I shared tomato soup and portuguese chicken livers, both dishes was very very tasty. For main I had lemon veal with tagliatelle. The veal was really very tasty albeit a bit on the tough side.
My daughter had Lindt mousse but it did not look like there was a lot of Lindt in there (there was a piece of plastic in it though). My wife had a scone for mains (yes, freshly baked) but it wasn't fluffy at all.
The wine from the property was fantastic and well priced. All the food was well priced in fact.
The day of our visit was extremely hot (39degrees C, 104f) and perhaps that could explain all the flies, I don't know.
