We visited Franschhoek in a very awkward time of the year where 80% of the restaurants were closed for the Winter season and those that were left open seemed to be generic restaurants that one could easily find at home. We arrived at Monneaux after driving past and noticing that there was finally a restaurant open, what's more is that we arrived quite early around 6pm and the kitchen was not yet open but they very kindly said they would serve us anyway. We were the only people in the restaurant which was a shame as it meant many people did not manage to experience such a fine meal as we did that night. Right from the starters through to dessert the food was delicious! Next time I visit Franschhoek I will not even bother looking for a restaurant but will immediately come here again. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it was a lovely way to finish off our trip to the Western Cape!
