It is with hesitation that I am writing this review purely because I don't want this place to be fully booked the next time we come to stay here.

Myself and my partner stayed here purely by accident as the place we booked originally was too small. Both owners went above and beyond in making us feel welcome. The cottage and its surroundings were just beautiful. The cottage is simple but classically furnished with lots of space. The cottage we stayed in had a lovely outside BBQ space which feels as private as if it was your own garden. We then were over the moon with the pool area which overlooks the pond. The cats and the hammocks were the icing on the cake.

Felt very safe and happy here wish we had longer to stay. Cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We stayed in Jasmine cottage. Perfect for two. There are two bigger cottages which may be more suita...

We loved the cosy cottages, the absolutely gorgeous setting, the peace (and amazing night-time noises) and definitely could have stayed longer. Having read the comments below, yes - it's not new and shiny, but if you're not bothered about having all the mod cons, I don't think you could beat it for location, price and friendly welcome.

As part of a large group we were allocated a two bedroom chalet in beautiful gardens with swimming pool. The bedrooms were a bit dark and tired but clean and beds comfy. The living and kitchen area was light and large and there was also a veranda onto the garden. Nice swimming pool with loungers, swinging chair and resident cats to feed. The only downside was the flies in all the rooms but the joys of living in the countryside I guess! The hosts were very friendly. Would go back

This lodge is set in a beautiful setting surrounded by lovely gardens against a backdrop of mountains. It was within easywalking distance of the town centre shops and restaurants whilst still feeling like it is in the countryside, overall a great location. The owners were friendly. I was with a group of 11 friends and we stayed in various of the little self catering cottages. My room was nice and spacious with an en-suite, the only downside was that I was asked not to use the shower as they were having a problem with it leaking into the kitchen below, so I had to use the shared downstairs bathroom shower. We only stayed for one night but I wished it could have been a bit longer.

We stayed with our two kids on the recommendation read from Lonely Planet and whilst price is always on our mind for a family of 4, it should not undermine the cleanliness and customer service. The cottage had not been aired up for sometime and could have done with a good dusting/hoovering. The kitchenware and appliances are old and overused, a little goes a long way but not this far...We had the feeling that the place had seen many better days a long time ago....and our departure comments barely went noticed. Too bad for such a great location, many more alternatives available.

If your looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay with a friendly atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Set on a small family farm a short walk from town with beautiful scenery. Several self catering cottages to choose from all reasonably priced. The owners, Henry and Polly, will always make you feel welcome and at home and are always accommodating. We can't wait till we go back again.

Room Tip: The "moonrise cottage" is our favorite and perfect for couples.

Situated within walking distance of the town just past a lovely open field. Furnishings slightly dated but very comfortable. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Great value for money in an expensive town.
