Franschhoek was full of people for the Bastille Festival weekend. We were glad we chose this place which is someway outside, and safe from the noise and bustle, to say nothing of the people wine crawling around the village!
We had to phone the owners to let us in, they were there in 5 minutes. It is a purpose built, modern building, without a great warmth when you arrive, but the facilities are excellent. Bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We slept well.
Breakfast was very good, with freshly made fruit salad, good juice, cereals, pastries, yoghurt and really tasty full English options. I particularly liked the herby fried tomatoes.
We made ourselves at home and sat by the fire in the evening.
