We stayed at the cottages at La Bourgogne for five nights. We needed to work and use our cottage, Oak Leaf, as a base for business and exploring. Oak Leaf is a lovely, double-roomed cottage (two bathrooms, too). It is cosy, but spacious. For working, the internet connection was in quite good order. We enjoyed peace and quiet at Oak Leaf, and the freedom to choose to either cook for ourselves, or go out to one of the many fine restaurants in Franschhoek. The staff at La Bourgogne are all kind and caring, and help your enquiry as quickly and efficiently as possible. A special mention to Inge, who (like for other reviewers!) waited a long time into the night to guide us to the gate and let us in. There was always ample firewood and it was very helpful to have our laundry done there, too. Our visit was extra special due to the Border Collie, Joe, who was great company! (If you don't like dogs, Joe will sense this and will stay away.) The cottages are self-catering, and we would certainly stay here again if we needed to stay in the Cape winelands for a longer time, and needed a base for working again.
