We had breakfast at MCC on a late Sat morning during the Bastille Day Festival. What a disappointment! The food took way to long to arrive, and was cold too. Surely if there is a Festival in town, restaurant owners should be prepared for the influx of guests. In a town that prides itself on good restaurant options, I would not recommend MCC Franschhoek.

It was a perfect, warm winters, Saturday morning of the Bastille Festival weekend. We were walking around like the many others looking for a spot to grab a breakfast, before heading to the Festival Tents..We saw a table free at MCC and sat down. Very friendly waitress who took our order and returned fairly promptly with our drinks. We were 5 people at the table and 3 Full English Breakfast''s, an Omelet and another breakfast combo was ordered. Not a difficult order at all. Then the LONG wait..which seemed forever, but as had checked into the venue on Facebook, we could track the time exactly. 1 hour 20 mins before our food arrived..I was calm and said to the group of friends, relax, we on a weekend trip no need to stress about time. It was warm and pleasant in the sun anyway..BUT when the food did arrive, the plates were ice cold, and the food was slightly warmer than the plates, but still cold... The Poached eggs looked perfect but being cold, means they must have been standing for ages. The fried eggs were cooked very crispy(Over done) and cold.. Toast was cold... Just a horrible breakfast..(Not mentioning, the baked beans that never arrived, The butter which we had to request on 3 occasions, The Tabasco I had to request twice.- They never came so we went to the kitchen ourselves to collect..The Kitchen seemed a mess.)...Also, it did not seem over capacity as it was around 11am and lots of people were just having a coffee... We must have caught this spot at a very bad time...All 5 of us left, feeling we had just wasted our time and money..Certainly hope it was a once off for this place...as the other reviews seem ok..

Divine little drinking spot in the centre of town. We can sit here for hours enjoying some delicious - and local - MCC. Note that there is no French Champagne on the menu, otherwise their name would be very different right? :) I really enjoy this spot on a sunny day; the majority of the place is outside. Only disappointment - which has happened twice - was when they were low on supply of your first choice of bubbles. This is only ironic when you're sitting in the middle of the wine capital of SA! That said - choose another bottle!

We stumbled on this place while walking the high street. It's set in a little courtyard with tables (and umbrellas) outside
We both has really delicious salads (I really recommend the springbok carpaccio) and of course a glass of delicious local MCC sparkling wine.
There's even an outdoor sofa to sit on and have a relaxing coffee after the meal

We stopped by for coffee one day and after finding out what MCC stood for we returned the next day for bubbles and oysters - delicious. We shared a mixed cheese/vegetable platter which was on the tiny side, but the scones were huge and excellent.
