A quick weekend to the cape winelands and the beautiful town of Franschhoek and what a lovely hotel with very good restaurant. We highly recommend it for a romantic couples breakaway. Rooms are well designed, clean and a high level of maintenance maintained throughout. We loved the stay and will be back soon with friends!

Room Tip: Some rooms have bigger balconies than others

A perfect setting for a few days of exploration around Franschhoek. The villas are large and very well appointed. A nice entrance/sitting room with TV and access to a covered veranda. Then a large room which also overlooks the veranda and a huge bathroom well appointed. The only remark was that there is only one light switch for the bathroom corridor and the bathroom. So if you wake up at night you have to wake up your partner as well.
The hotel provides free transportation to the village if you want to dine outside.
They also have a renowned restaurant, Monneaux, which I will cover in a separate review as the menu was outstanding.

Room Tip: We stayed in a villa on the ground floor but would suggest to stay on the ones on the first floor wh...

We stayed here for three nights at the end of February, and found the staff to be really kind and helpful. We were here for a cycling event, and the staff bent over backwards to be accommodating with the storage of the bikes, and early breakfast requests ( 5 am one morning!)- thanks to Ben in particular. Our room was in the main building overlooking the outside eating area - the room was spacious, the bedding crisp and fresh, with a small sitting area in the room and a small balcony. We never used our hire car once during our stay, preferring to use the complimentary shuttle service, which was great - we found that we had to give them a lot of warning otherwise we had to wait a fair bit for the shuttle because it was so busy.We had a meal in the hotel on one night, which was lovely, and then eat out in Franschhoek the other nights - there are so many wonderful places to eat nearby.

My husband and I spent two nights at this remarkable hotel. We were greeted with first class service that extended to the very end. We stayed in a luxury room (room 14) on the second floor that overlooked the pool. The room was spacious, luxurious with so much natural light and sitting space. We had a welcome note and package on our bed and were provided with a tour of the grounds. The hotel grounds were so beautiful it was hard to leave. We ordered room service every night from the delicious hotel restaurant and had the fireplace lit in our room. Breakfast was delicious and there were so many choices both hot and cold. We took advantage of the free shuttle to drop us off and pick up up from the town. The most impressive thing was what they did for us at check out. We had an early morning pick up at 4am and they gave us a wake up call at 3am and brought us breakfast in our room at 3:30 along with packed snacks for the road. I highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: Book a luxury room with views facing the pool

The villa is the ideal place to spoil your loved one. It makes me feel like a princess! The rooms are gorgeous, linen of very good quality, decor opulent. I wish to go there at least once a year! Outside is even picture perfect! There welcome service is good and fast. We even received glass of sparkling wine upon arrival. Just don't hesitate and make your booking!

Room Tip: To pay extra for the villa is worth the money! They are beautiful, spacious and luxurious!

This hotel does not do itself justice on their company website. We found it to be an absolutely wonderful spot to spend a couple nights while touring vineyards in the area. The rooms are very well appointed, the beds are comfortable, the views are amazing, and the service and food were great.

Do not worry about the property not being "in town". They have a shuttle that will take you into town for dinner or shopping and pick you back up. No hassle at all.

The only criticisms I would offer are that the two pools were about the same temperature. It would have been nice if one would have been a little cooler/more refreshing.

My wife and I stayed here for one night in January 2013. I am sorry we did not stay longer, because the countryside around Franschhoek is gorgeous and also because the hotel is so pleasant. We were particularly impressed by the visibility and attention of management and staff. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere, almost like an old-fashioned guest house, and breakfast was excellent. We did not dine in the hotel, but management laid on a car to take us into central Franschhoek and to collect us when we were ready to go back. Definitely a place to return to.
