Description: The Bar at LQF is a trendy, sociable space with a wood-burning fireplace. Outside seating creates the perfect spot to relax over a drink and watch the activity on the main street. Savour the signature craft gin cocktails or create your own G&T from the menu of delicious ingredients. There is also a selection of classic cocktails, some with a unique contemporary twist, as well as delicious non-alcoholic versions. The well-stocked bar also offers artisan beers and ciders, as well as a hand-picked selection of proudly South African wines.

I had reservations for The Tasting Room, where I enjoyed fantastic meal. book 6 weeks in advance if you want to eat there, it is after all # 61 on the top 100 in the world list for places to eat.

So while I waited to be seated I enjoyed a few cocktails at the bar that opened up into a patio area to see the entire valley. If your in Franschhoek, then you need to come and check it out.

Once the absolute stand out location in Franshoek it seems to have lost it's way begining with the loss of beautiful shrub beds outside Le Quartier to the over complication of foods and direction. Is it a restuarant-gallery-hotel? Still worth exploring but we find it has priced itself out of our revisit locations pity!

Loved the setting in the sunny garden room for breakfast. Creative presentation of fruits, and the absolute best bread I have ever had in my life! Simple relaxed elegance!

Comfy and shady seating made this a great place to have a few drinks in the late afternoon outside. We tried a few cocktails and watched the world go by on the main street. Very relaxing and what vacations should be about! After getting hungry we sampled the menu and loved the sharing dishes. Blown away by the suckling pig crumble - you have to try this. All in all a great place to stop in.

As we were here on a trip planned at the last second we couldn't get in to the tasting room but ate twice in the lounge bar instead. They serve tapas style plates and with only 8/10 dishes on the menu we knew it was going to be good - it was AMAZING! This is a must-try if you are in town; the prices are also very reasonable so it's also worth more than one visit !
