How would you like to spend two nights in a hotel suite which is beautifully appointed and is surrounded by mountains and vineyards? Oh go on then force me. Mont Rochelle's photos do not do it justice at all. Really friendly people who went that extra yard to ensure your enjoyment, a wine tasting and a picnic opportunity could not be missed . Everything about this country hotel was lovely
Breakfast and dinner matched the hotel's high expectations with local food well presented. Wished I could have stayed longer.

We arrived at 9am, tired after a night flight and was welcomed with an upgrade and immediate occupancy, We were also invited into breakfast which has the most amazing choice. Nothing better than a glass of bubbly to start the day. The hotel is situated a pleasant 10 minute stroll behind the village but in a lovely peaceful location. The service was exemplary and all the staff warm and welcoming. The hotel and its grounds immaculate. Both the restaurants superb. They were open on alternate days with quite different menus and ambiance.I was however surprised that the Hotel does not promote it's own restaurants to it's own guests and visitors i.e no menus in the rooms or displayed for people to see. We met a few wine tasting visitors who had no idea the Hotel or the Mange Tout restaurant existed and some hotel guests knew nothing of the Country Kitchen..so don't miss out!

Room Tip: They all have great mountain views

What a wonderful place! We were met with a glass of delicious wine, however on being taken to our room we went down several flights of stairs and wondered where we were going but soon found out, we were shown to a room with a superb view over Franschhoek, amazing! The staff at the hotel were very helpful and very friendly and the food at both restaurants was excellent! It was a pity we only spent a couple of days here at the end of our holiday but we would certainly go back again.

We had a long weekend here and I don't think I've enjoyed one so much for a long time. The whole ambience of the place lends itself to relaxing, chilling out and eating and drinking well! My husband has mobility problems and although he can get around slowly, he has to use crutches. We were very kindly given an upgrade to a suite, which was within a few yards of the terrace where breakfast was served, as the room we had chosen was on the first floor, and there is no lift. When we arrived we were greeted with offers of tea, coffee or drinks on the terrace in front of the bar while we attended to the usual check-in forms and from then onwards, our weekend was perfect. The suite was lovely, big bedroom, spacious lounge with an excellent bathroom and also a lovely little patio with a jacuzzi. The food was very good and I don't think it would be possible to have a better breakfast anywhere. For breakfast there was a good selection of hot things on the menu and a wide variety of things on the buffet - cold meats, smoked salmon, a wonderful selection of fruits, etc. - all delicious.. This was served on their lovely terrace with stunning views of the mountains all around - a perfect setting. Dinner, was served in a delightfully appointed room and was accompanied by music from a very accomplished pianist. The food was very good, but the menu was not large and I think after 3 nights I would be wondering what to choose. However, everything was delicious and well presented. The staff and the service provided was 5 star plus and we will most certainly be returning there on our next trip to CapeTown. The only tiny thing that could be improved is the lighting in the suite we had (No.29). We like to spend a lot of time reading, and the lighting in the lounge of the suite really wasn't suitable for this.

We arrived at the Mont Rochelle at about 8pm. Having driven from Cape Town, we were a little late after we decided to take a detour to see the penguins and then got a little lost. Although the hotel restaurant was closed on the night we arrived, the staff ensured that we were able to book in for dinner at another one of their restaurants on site. They even drove us there. All the staff were incredibly helpful - especially Abe, who helped us organise a private wine tour during our stay. My favourite part though was the breakfast. So many choices, every bit was delicious.

From being greeted with a glass of chilled white wine onwards this hotel provided a first rate service. The room and hotels public areas were lovely. There are fantasic views over the valley. breakfast was very good but unfortunately the hotel restaurant was closed on the days we were there (we did eat at their bistro). The staff were friendly and knowlegeable, they gave us good recommendations for places to eat and visit.

The hotel driver, Abe picked us up in the Q7 and was very friendly and chatty.
On arrival it looked a bit formal but was actually very relaxed and enjoyable. Alfio, the resident pianist played every possible tune going, even, Blayden Races, a Geordie tune that some will know. But to hear that in this fine restaurant was funny and we laughed and joked with other guests and Alfio. Requests followed.
The service was very good, staff well informed on the food and wine.
A night cap in the hotel bar was a great end to the night.
