“Quaint restaurant, great food”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

The food we experienced at Racine was top class, the first course took a little while to arrive but I think they were a bit busier than normal due to their half price set menu offering on City Slicker. The venue is quaint and rustic with a great setting next to a stream and a "bunch" of trees. The fireplace ensured that the outside chill was kept at bay. The outside seating should be great in the warmer summer months. The directions to the venue are not the best and even when you arrive at the Chamonix wine tasting area it is not obvious that the Racine restaurant is there.

“Don't Miss This Place !”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Racine is located on a vineyard on a hill above Franschhoek, in the trees and alongside a stream. The food was awesome and the service too. We spent several enjoyable hours eating lunch!

“Absolutely Fabulous!”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

We celebrated my granny's 96th birthday at Racine and it was magical. Besides the food being heavenly, the staff really made her day special with a beautiful speech and decadent cake. Will definitely be going back!

“a true gem in Franschoek”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

I am almost weary to give a good review, because I know sooner or later the secret about this wonderful place is going to be out...
A group of us arrived without a reservation and found it to be most beautiful, cozy and warm on a wet winter evening.
Our waitress (the one with the beautiful Arabic name) was extremely competent. I never needed to fill my own glass, The mussel starter was absolutely amazing. Best mussels I have ever eaten in a restaurant, I had the salt&chili squid for mains and it was delightful. Everybody around the table was full of compliments about the food, service and atmosphere.

Truly a memorable experience for us. Thank you all for making it a night to remember.

“A cosy choice on a rainy night”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

We visited Racine for the second time on a stormy, wet early winters eve. The fire was crackling, the red wine poured liberally, winter delights like coq au vin on the menu- everything to warm the heart and the bones. We were lucky enough to be served by Melusi ( previous reviewers also raved about him), and his service was exemplary. An added bonus is the fantastic Chamonix wines. A really good restaurant in Franschhoek.
