The couple who own this hotel make you feel very at home as if you're staying in their personal home which is a really welcoming atmosphere. Not silly minibar charges as it's all free and they recommended a superb wine tour and horse riding trip for us which they booked and sorted out. Fantastic little dog and a delicious home cooked breakfast every morning. You can walk onto the Main Street in about 5 minutes and drive to nearby vineyards very easily. Great place to stay!

We really loved our 2 night stay at Akademie Street.
We stayed in Vreugde which is lovely accommodation next to the main house, with its own beautiful private garden and plunge pool.
Vreugde is a small 2 roomed house which was very cute and comfortable.
The breakfasts were excellent with the owners looking after you.
Nothing was too much trouble from organising restaurants to printing off directions to our next destination.
Franschhoek itself is a very nice small town with a high street packed full of interesting and quality shops, bars and restaurants.
The highlight for us though was meeting ANNA their gorgeous Black lab who we took for a long walk in Franschhoek .
We would highly recommend this boutique guest house.

Fine place, lovely owners and staff!! The breakfast was sublime, the rooms were very nice, loved the stay here, not too crowded, if you need some privacy it's fantastic! Also good for a small family. The restaurants of Fraschhoek are in walking distence

Room Tip: We had the villa

My husband and I only stayed here a couple of nights, but wished we could have stayed longer. The guest house is beautiful - lots of vibrant colourful original artwork (by the father of the present owner), solid wooden doors, and all the furniture very clean and polished. Our room was spacious and looked out onto a lovely garden. Great attention had been paid to everything a guest might conceivably desire (for example, in the bathroom there was a magnifying mirror for putting on make-up; and it was the only place we stayed in S Africa which served Darjeeling tea.) There were fluffy white towels and crisp white cotton sheets; a DVD player; a kettle and a serious Italian coffee maker. Even the plate of fresh fruit on the breakfast table was beautifully displayed. And it was a great bonus to have my laundry of the past week washed and neatly ironed. We were warmly welcomed by Hazel, who gave us helpful advice on where to eat. The only thing wrong with staying here was the weather (it rained solidly for 2 days), but it would be lovely to see it again in sunshine. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Room Tip: We stayed in Twyfellig (spelling?) which was lovely.
