My wife and I stayed here in early February 2014. We were booked into the Twyfeling B suite part of the main house and found the rooms superb: well appointed and tastefully so. Breakfast by the pool was magnificent and catered for all tastes from light continental to the Full South African cooked meal. There is a complimentary bar and laundry service. Hazel is very attentive and informative about local places to go and the tips on restaurants / wine farms provided by Katherine & Arthur, the proprietors, were invaluable.
An up market boutique hotel which represented good value for money.

Room Tip: We were in the main house but there is a choice of other room types in the garden area all of which provide privacy.

Academie Street really is as excellent as everyone else has said. We stayed in Gelatenheid which is a perfect base from which to enjoy Franschhoek. Arthur, Catherine, Hazel and the rest of the team are so welcoming and helpful that you instantly feel at home. The most relaxing holiday we have ever had, we cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you everyone, hopefully we will be back!

Our three-night stay was extremely enjoyable. Everything about our stay was excellent. We'd booked Oortuiging which had two ensuite bedrooms. The accommodation was extremely attractive and comfortable, very well equipped and spacious. The breakfasts in the garden were delightful and provided lots of options. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and attentive. In particular, Hazel was very welcoming and helpful in providing tips on places to eat and visit. Overall, a truly wonderful stay.

We read the reviews on Trip Advisor before booking and thought it can't be that good - but it was!
We tried to find fault but failed. The owners are exceptionally attentive to the smallest detail and the room we stayed in was very large, clean and tastefully decorated with original paintings. Guests are provided with a fridge of complimentary drinks as well as the use of a mobile phone for calls in RSA. The à la carte breakfast was excellent.
The overriding memory of the hotel was the genuine feeling that the family owners were determined to ensure that all guests' possible needs were provided without anything being too much or in any way a problem.

This is an elegant sanctuary and relaxing retreat from the everyday world. Our room was a mixture of traditional with a modern bathroom of superb design. The staff were excellent and were very attentive and helpful to my wife who was suffering from a stomach illness. It has been mentioned several times but the breakfast really is a highlight.

Yet another successful choice based on Tripadvisor.
