we arrived rather early, around 10:30, we wondered through the beautiful restaurant and curio shop, the exquisite art gallery, killing time to get to taste the wine! around 11 we went into this grand cellar, barrels of wine ageing in from of you! it made the wine taste that much better, i'm sure of it. amazing tasting experience.

Best tasting wine of the day. Magnificent grounds the estate boasts, very picturesque would highly recommend picking up a bottle or two.

Visited La Motte at the end of januari with a group of wine professionals. We were warmly received and split up into three groups, each doing one of three different activities on the premises.

I enjoyed the wine/food pairing session which was setup and executed very good, though we had a little discussion with the host on some of the combinations presented ;-)

Next we walked towards their organic garden and had a small tasting session with the man responsible for running the La Motte organic farming operation. Good initiative and this should be an example for many restaurants in the area!

Finally, we did the cellar and historical tour with Ellis-Marie, who gave great insight on the historical background of the property. And we got to taste (lovely presented) La Motte bread, milled on-site by an actual water mill. Thanks Ellis!

Thanks for the great welcome! You've certainly won over at least one advocate for La Motte wines in the Netherlands.

A high end vineyard with amazing gardens, very clean, modern, lovely little shop, even a museum, a cultural point of interest at La Motte. A very pleasurable wine tasting experience in a comfortable atmosphere with welcoming friendly knowledgeable service...well worth a visit and next time we will allow more time for La Motte.
