ate at Pure Restaurant last night and the food was truly excellent. Superb. Glass of bubbles, bottle of red, starter and main came to £25 a head. An affordable treat. Service was good, not intrusive. Nice touch to be offered a pair of glasses when the bill came so I could read it!

We took advantage of a night's stay in Cape Town at Hout Bay Manor through a Groupon special. I have to say that this was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Despite only paying a third of the normal price, we were treated the same as if we had paid full price. The hotel is so beautifully decorated and clean and the staff were all friendly that the service offering was amazing. I will certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Wow this was unforgettable! After an extremely stressful period my husband and I decided to try a getaway close to home. Leaving the teenagers behind we headed for Hout Bay. On arrival we were greeted by a warm and friendly gentleman, Nicholas. The front office staff were extremely efficient. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful. We were taken on a quick tour and escorted to our room. The ladies that served breakfast the following morning were warm and friendly. Chloe and Gail who did our massages......girls we want to adopt you!!Pity we had to leave.....back to reality.

The beautiful restaurant seemed to promise a beautiful meal, but it did not live up to its lovely calm and tastefully decorated dining room, whose tables were well spaced apart. A stunning glass chandelier hung from the ceiling and a lot of thought had gone into making the surroundings somewhere one wanted to spend two or three hours with friends over a leisurely meal.

Our drinks orders were promptly taken and menus offered to us all. The dishes all sounded interesting and I jumped at the chance to try the Beetroot soup with pancetta. Sorry chef, way too salty, I would have preferred it without the cheese addition. My husband's salmon trout starter was OK.

My main of Karoo lamb was delicious but my husband's mushroom tagliatelle was overcooked and gloopy. The side order of vegetables we'd asked for when orders were taken, had been forgotten about, but to give them their due, they rustled up a great dish of the green stuff PDQ.

Only one of our party had dessert and it looked very nicely presented. I ordered fresh mint tea with some petite fours, the latter of which turned out to be 4 thin, dry, and tasteless slices of crisp sweet cake.

The service, surprisingly enough for a Cape Town restaurant of this quality, was not great and not attentive at all. It just wasn't as slick as one would expect for a five star hotel's main restaurant.

My loo check gave it a score of 8, very nicely decorated!

Not sure if I would want to return next year.

It's a very friendly and hospitable place for staying!
Every corner has its specialty waiting for you to find out!
You can stay there whole day and don't even want to go out for a walk.
"Enjoy it" is the only recommend from me.

This Hotel has a charming atmosphere, excellent service and great setting.
The rooms are very nicely decorated, feels homely and cosy.
Breakfast was excellent with a nice setting, healthy options and good service.
The personal feel to the hotel, small gestures by staff like the "bed time story" was really something different and great.
We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will definitely visit again
