would have preferred a King Size bed; the attention to detail & decor was outstanding; the experience at Pure was less than i expected - service could have been better & food served on both courses was luke warm. but breakfast made up for it. definetely a hidden gem!! very excited to see what was around each corner. Pool area very restful

From the moment we walked in to the dining room we knew that we had found something rare and exquisite. The decor was awe inspiring and the atmosphere was that of a long lost palace secret room that we had stumbled upon. We were firstlyescorted to the bar to enjoy our pre-dinner cocktail which was served promptly and went down just the same. The Manageress then showed us to our table and we were offered our choice of chilled water. We chose the tasting menu with accompanying wines while we enjoyed our selection of fresh homemade breads. From the moment we were served our starter of crocodile carpaccio we knew that the kitchen were a fresh and imaginative team, who knew those rare flavour combination finds. Our main of roast loin of zebra was subtle in flavour and texture - a complete opposite to what I was expecting in a positive manner, and the dessert of poached plums with homemade sweet puff, olive oil ice cream and pistachio nougat was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. The Head Chef and his team are beyond a shadow of a doubt oozing the talent that is so needed in todays cosmopolitan Cape Town for a price that is affordable. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip! Thanx guys!

Firstly, this hotel is situated in the fishing coastal village of Hout Bay, which is a few kms away from the hustle and bustle of the city. But not so far away from places of interest so as a tourist you can still visit the waterfront, the scenic Chapman's peak drive, the dire all the way to Cape Point etc. secondly, the minute you walk in this hotel, you feel relaxed, it is like stepping into another world. Rather small but very luxurious and comfortable, quirky, colorful and filled with crafts from the local village, this renovated hampstead will charm you. The pool is small but perfect to lounge about and read a book. Close to the courtyard where you can enjoy cake and tea or close enough to the main restaurant. The staff is friendly, professional, courteous and well dressed (never seen staff look so proud in their stylish uniforms). They are always willing to go the extra mile to assist you with your needs. The restaurant was great for breakfast, not a huge choice but good enough to fill your stomach, you can choose between sweet pastries or bread and jam or the English hot breakfast with eggs, mushrooms etc. I particularly enjoyed dinner at Pure restaurant, the venue is beautiful and all white, ivory, just splendid...very romantic. The food is great and plated beautifully, the staff very good and smiling, knowledgeable about the menu. I also tried the spa and it was very good - they were professional for the body massages and they make you feel very special and pampered, the way it should be. I love the key of the room, huge, heavy, it feels like in a fairy tale... The bed is sublime, four poster, giant, comfortable and amazingly soft linen... The bathroom is so beautiful, spacious, making you wanna stay in there and pamper yourself... I love the sewing kit, presented in a very unconventional way and their amenities are good as well.

Smallish hotel, old manor style Cape homestead that has been meticulously renovated to five star standards The rooms are thoughtfully done, albeit the standard rooms a little smaller than one would expect Lots and lots of attention to small details like hats on the recliners at the pool area and great attentive service all round The restaurants are very good ie one breakfast area and a fine dining one right next door Staff are genuinely helpful and eager to please with all kinds of local information, recommendations on hand etc Hout Bay is a way from the main action in Cape Town but is a destination village in itself You will need a car rental or chauffeur driven to get around as the location is stand alone and only the small town of Hout Bay and the local beach are accessible on foot. This is a great location for a Cape Town and environs base for daily sightseeing and exploration of all the amazing local sights and attractions

Room Tip: 2nd floor superior room or better as standard rooms are quite small Pool facing

My husband and I stayed at Hout Bay Manor Hotel for the last two weeks. We had a fantastic time. The second you walk in, everything from the bar, to the hallway, is laid out to perfection. Very artistic, warm and instantly makes you feel at home. In addition to the esthetics of the hotel, the restaurant’s food is excellent and the staffs are wonderful. Starting from the guys that welcome you when you park your car, to the breakfast staff, and everyone else in between, nothing is impossible, they'll try to accommodate whatever demands thrown at them. A true 5 star. Just excellent. What a delightful find in beautiful Cape Town! Unfortunately I didn't use the spa but knowing the staff, i can be confident it's very good. As for fitness, i know 5 min walk there's a gym that one can use if interested.

Room Tip: Rooms are big so any of the rooms are excellent. My husband and I did some exercise in our room and...

Stayed for one night for a party in the area. Was extremely impressed with the overall feel of the hotel. Very good, personalised service. Rooms were quirkily but tastefully decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. I could have spent the night in the bar (but alas were expected elswhere) as it's a gem of a room. Will have to try to find a reason, soon, to spend another night (or two) in this amazing hotel...

Many things an be overlooked when the service and environment are right.

Fortunately this is one hotel where everything is great, the service is excellent and atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

What really makes this hotel stand out for me is the unexpected extras that you just don't get at a commercial hotel.

The hand written welcome card, the greeting by name, the little chocolate Almonds in the candy jars in the halls.
