We stayed at Froggs Leap for the first 4 nights of our holiday and found both the location of the B&B and the hospitality excellent. It was our first experience of South Africa and a great start to our holiday! We had a verandah room on the ground floor, which was really spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent - fresh fruit, followed by either a continental or cooked breakfast (or both!) Joke and Stewart were really helpful suggesting places to visit, scenic trips and recommending restaurants for the evening. When we had a trip planned with an early morning departure, Joke arranged for breakfast to be made earlier so that we wouldn't miss out! The beds were really comfortable and big and the rooms were cleaned every day. Although the B&B was full for most of the time we stayed there, you still felt as though you had your own space to relax and unwind in the peaceful surroundings, before walking the short distance in to Hout Bay. If was only 40 mins to drive to Cape Town from Hout Bay, so perfectly positioned to allow you to explore both Cape Town and the peninsular without having to stay in the City itself.

Room Tip: We would recommend a room upstairs if available, as they would be quieter at breakfast time as the g...

We always feel very emotional when having to depart from Froggs. We travel a lot but this is the place where we feel most at home and most relaxed. The place itself is sublime with amazing views and stunning scenery. Perfectly positioned away from Cape Town but near enough. The rooms, beds and linens are first class. However it is Joke and Stewart that keep us coming back. They are simply wonderful people and are a great deal of fun. We would love to have Joke as our Big Sister! Breakfasts are superb with every attention to detail and Joke's omelettes to die for.

Amazing guesthouse hosted by Joke and Steward was our first guesthouse during our first trip in South Africa. Splendid well decorated luxurious rooms, great bathroom facilities, own balcony or private part on veranda and (very important!) real great beds!
So don't hesitate to book this guesthouse for visiting Capetown and its surroundings. We first doubted whether we should not go to Capetown city, but for the frist days after hard work and a long flight, this is a perfect location to meet Sout Africa. Hout Bay is a real quite town in a bay just on the other side of the Table mountain. It has some fine restaurants close by (we could even walk to it during the evening; it was safe) but also Capetown (15/20 minutes) or the more trendy towns like Campsbay (10 minutes) are nearby. Joke arranges every morning a real breakfast feast with fresh fruits and any variant of eggs you want and serves this on the reall speldid veranda of the house. Steward takes all his time to explain you on interesting items to visit or with tips on basr/restaurants where to go to on your trip. Also nice to hear from them both as already long term inhabitants of Sout Africa, a bit more about this beautifull country. Hospitality is number 1 in this guesthouse. It has a small swimming pool for the hot days but unfortunately our weather did not invite for a plunge in the pool.

This was our first B&B in SA and although others were extremely good nothing surpassed Froggs Leap. The interior design is beautiful, views in the room and on the terrace glorious and the breakfasts are 4* star hotel standard not B&B. The knowledge and care shown by the owners is second to none, even checking our route for road works before we set off. There are restaurants that can be walked to and great runs along the beach.

This was our second visit to Froggs Leap, and just as good as the first. Everything as we remembered even down to Joke`s super breakfast omelettes. Stewart and Joke are very attentive and helpful. They keep a very good , clean and friendly establishment. Hout bay is a good center for exploring the Cape and only a short drive to Cape Town.

Steward and Joke - you guys were awesome. We really enjoyed our 9 day stay. Breakfast was just amazing and the selection was great. I remember after being introduced to our new room by Steward, turning to Cino to double check that he had the correct price.
We enjoyed our chats around the breakfast table and your fervor to assist in planning our days at the beautiful Cape.
We wish you many more happy years!!

We travelled 3,000kl in January and February 2010 taking in the sourthern-most part of South Africa on our first visit there - stayed a month. We started with 3 days in Cape Town to do things that do not require a car such as Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch Gardens and the Waterfrontin and we returned there for our last 3 days of our tour which were spent at a B&B/Guesthouse called Froggs Leap in Hout Bay. It was one of our most inexpensive stops, luxurious, quiet, calm and peaceful. Food and service excellent, real value for money. The owners go to great lengths to povide individual (almost Carribean style) luxury accommodation yet manage to make it homely and welcoming - if like us you do not l ike hotels, this is the place to stay. We rated it top of our 9 accommodation experiences in South Africa - that is saying something as we loved all the places we stayed. We would definitely return there again next time. How many owners would let you stay all day on your checkout date, just because they had the suite vacant and our flight was late evening! The staff were first class and have a way of quietly serving you whilst you do not even notice - lots of flower decorations gathered freshly from the garden to decorate the wonderful breakfast. Hout Bay is perfectly placed for touring the Cape and taking in the wonderful coastline - don't miss the walk down to the Cape of Good Hope.
