Worthwhile to do the drive to them. Book to be safe. Excellent venue and very scenic. Take a mini bus and make it a group effort

“GEM IN A LOVELY TRANQUIL SETTING”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

What a lovely find. Good beer & food. We were there on Saturday, arrived @ noon so still quiet but constant flow of people thereafter. There were 5 of us. We had eisbien, lamb shanks, beef & ale pie & fish & chips, roast veg & chips, all excellent. Only slight complaint, the batter on fish was too much & rather oily (would have preferred the choice of grilled). Lovely atmosphere with sufficient shade & good friendly service.

“Nice Venue, Tasty Food, Great Chef.”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

This is a lovely venue more suited to a lazy lunch or brunch over the weekend. It is a laid back venue for the entire family, with okay service, but who cares on a lazy sunshine day. Food is well presented and tasty - don't expect a huge menu but what they offer is great and certainly their special of the day is something 'special'.

Hi Jodi. We knew the pizzas would be the right way to go after having yours at Buzbar. Being friends for so long I would have hoped that you would discuss the service issue in person. We have extremely busy days and may be caught short staffed at times. It is something which we try to improve on, but as you know, the labour pool is a little shallow in Robertson. Chat soon :)

“Great Beer in a perfect setting!”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

This place is stunning, in between plum orchards and vineyards at the foot of the mountain, a great idea and something different. Quite a drive along a gravel road to get there, but the cold beer and beautiful setting waiting for you at the end is well worth it! The beer is really good and I'm quite impressed with the fact that they make the beer from their own mountain spring water!

We also had lunch. Don't expect a gourmet or fine dining experience, but a typical pub menu with Enchilada's, Nachos, burgers etc that is all freshly prepared and served with a smile. (This is a brewery after all!) We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy, but still our food and drink was delivered in no time.

Will definitely be back for a beer or 2!

“Unusual”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

This was our 2nd visit. The first was dinner about 2 years ago with a roaring bonfire outside and was amazing - food, beer, service everything. This 2nd visit was a little disappointing but I think that was because it was just too busy. Certain meals were no longer available as ingredients were finished and others, well you could see the chef had made a plan ... It was Wine on the River weekend and I think it was unusually busy. Don't let this 2nd visit of ours put you off - it is a lovely place and great for kids too.
