“A wonderful find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

When deciding our route through South Africa, we chose our accommodation by their Tripadvisor ranking, which is why we chose to stay at Ballinderry. Everybody was right! What a beautiful home (and garden) and easy to find. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool. Coming from a country where we have heating in the winter, we had been surprised to arrive in South Africa (in winter) to find that they do not 'do' heating in their bedrooms and so we had spent evenings shivering before climbing into a cold bed. Not so at Ballinderry, where we had lovely, fluffy bathrobes as well as the best bit of all, an electric blanket. Bliss; thank you!! When we had made our booking, Luc had asked if we would like him to find us a restaurant that was open on a Sunday evening, or whether we would like to dine in. With a little trepidation, we chose the eating in option and were so delighted that we did. Hilde loves to cook, and is fantastic at it! We had a wonderful meal which was delicious, served in a dining room with a roaring fire. What more could we ask for, other than an equally delicious breakfast (Hilde, you should bottle your fantastic marmalade and start your own farm stall!) As well as all this, we had asked Luc and Hilde for any suggestions as to where to eat in our next port of call, Oudtshoorn, which they were happy to give us (great choice guys). All in all a wonderful stay; thank you so very much and rest assured that we will definitely come back for another visit if we ever find ourselves in Robertson again.

Never slept better, airy room all mods and cons, clean and neat, central for Business, lovely and quiet, dinning/breakfast room with crackling fire, both in evening and at breakfast. My hosts were charming and most welcoming. I will definitely stay there again as my first choice.

Absolutely well taken care of. Hosts were top class, friendly and professional. WILL definately go back. Breakfast is fantastic. The only slight drawback was the poor Wi-Fi connection. So if you're on business make sure you bring a Internet/3G modem.

We had a wonderful stay in Ballinderry for 2 nights whilst going to a wedding in the area. The rooms are comfortable and clean.. The very well presented breakfasts were delicious - I wouldn't miss out on the perfect breakfasts! Decor is amazing and pool area perfect for summer relaxation. Thank you Luc and Hilda

Room Tip: Choose the rooms closest to the swimming pool, they are big and close to the entertainment area.

This guesthouse is beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, inviting and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the apple pancake breakfast and sitting by the warm fire in the guest lounge. Luc was incredibly hospitable and we would definitely come back again

We spent a lovely three days in Robertson at the Wacky Wine Festival and found the location of The Ballinderry very suitable. The room was comfortable and immaculately clean. We enjoyed relaxing in the Guest Lounge and reading next to the roaring log fire. The very well presented breakfasts were delicious. Thank you Luc and Hilda for welcoming us in your lovely Guest House.

This was really one of the guesthouses we loved most during our three-week visit of South Africa. The hospitality of the hosts is amazing, as well as the breakfast, the setting and design of the guest house and the superb 3-course diner you can have if you book it in beforehand! Really the top location to visit Robertson and surroundings!
