We only stayed here one night unfortunately but it was a real pleasure.
The cottages are large + comfortable with the furniture in keeping with it's style. There was a swimming pool, hammocks, a braai for each cottage, sunbeds + chairs around the pool + outside the cottages. There was a fully equipped kitchen, which unfortunately we only used for making hot drinks.
Rita + wim were very attentive + Wim very kindly booked us into an excellent local restaurant that evening+ even drove us there + picked us up later. They really put us at ease + made for a very sress free stay.
The gardens are being extended, incorporating a Japanese themed garden + will really compliment the rest of the beautiful gardens.
Breakfast was served outside by the pool + there was good choice with a healthy content.
Thanks Rita + Wim for a lovely stay + when we come back to CT we will definitely come + stay again.

My boyfriend and I just got back from a night at Mallowdeen Gardens and had the BEST time! The property is so beautiful, the owners, Rita and Wim, have such an amazing garden, which seems hard to do in such a hot and dry place. Everything goes well with the natural setting...there are two cottages with African style thatched roofs that have a gorgeous background view. By the two cottages is a great swimming pool, which is a must have for the the summer climate and a braai area (barbecue)
We sadly only stayed for one night...went for Robertson's Wine on the River weekend (which is a lot of fun and def something one should do if they can). The two cottages were booked for the weekend so we stayed in the "apartment," which was wonderful! The room was very clean and well decorated with a simple style. There is a kitchen, and Rita and Wim were kind enough to put in a couple of waters and some fruit juice and even received a small bottle of wine. The apartment is very private and even has its own braai area.
The owners were so friendly and hospitable and were great company. They really know what they are doing and made our stay even better.
Mallowdeen Gardens is a great place to go as a couple or with a big group. My boyfriend and I really want to go back and rent the whole place with a group of friends. The price is also very reasonable at R300 per person per night. It could be a good family place but not for young kids since no children are allowed...not sure what the cut off age is.
I would definitely recommend this place, we had such a wonderful experience.
