“Great family adventure!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

The children loved everything - they were very excited about the treehouse & forest walk. The house is perfectly equipped with everything u need, even electric blankets on beds. Upon making the booking Robyn advised us to book a 1 bedroom which was great advice as the children (5 & 8) was a bit scared of the unknown sounds! Everything was a big adventure to them! Highly recommended to families. Will return again in summer so that we can swim in the river.

Hi, thanks for the positive response, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. I do beleive the family tree house works well for families with young kids, the forest can be dark and scary, though not dangerous at night. So great that it was the correct advice

My boyfriend and I stayed at Teniqua Treetops of two nights- we loved being nestled in the trees, and the walk down to the river (though it's not a easy one. Bring water and snacks). Neither of us minded the bugs or the little mouse friend who visited us - it's the forest! The outdoor shower was also a highlight. The absolute best part of our stay was the sunset on our second night, which was stunning. It's worth visiting just for that.

Hi, thanks for the positive feedback. I love the sunsets here. I always wish guests would arrive in time for sunset, it is often, usually, frequently, absolutely stunning. Regards Robyn

A place to stay unlike any other. Shower amongst the treetops. Great equipped kitchen and the treehouse has enough heaters and electric blankets to keep you warm. The surrounding hikes are enjoyable, the starlit night sky incredible and the view of rolling hills with wandering horses, a treat. Expect a few creepy crawlies, but the stay is all worth it!

Hi, pleased you enjoyed your stays. The stars are incredible, the milky way is so clear. BBQ at night looking at the sky is just spectacular.

We have decided to visit Teniqua Treetops for our first honeymoon destination and what great experience. The view is something you cant put into words, will recommend to anyone and we will certainly be back. I'm all for the environmental friendly toilet but it is definitely something to use to and I can only think that for the ladies it is something they would like to be a bit more modern. Thank you for the wonderful stay and the great service.

,HiI am pleased you enjoyed your stay, The composting loos are a bit of an issue for me. Its a debate between green and convenience. I am not sure which is better. Water borne sewerage is what we are used to. Some of the tree houses do use septic tanks, the international tourists seem more used to composting toilets than the South Africans. Maybe we should change them. I do not know. Regards

This was well worth a visit
Fantastic site in the tree tops
Walk from your unit down to the river
Definitely at least do 2 nights if not 3
Friendly and everything worked well
for indigenous forest lovers this one is a must and although it is not cheap the set- up must have cost
To me, preferable to nay 5 star hotel room

Room Tip: Ask for one with a bath ......once in a lifetime bath expereience!

Thanks I am so pleased you have enjoyed your stay. Being a unique tree house resort, you are correct does cost. An initial decision was that we wanted each tree house to be very private and far from the next, which results in a huge infrastructural cost. Initally chosen to ensure privacy, we have realised it reduces any damage to the pristine indigenous forest, as the impact is spread over a larger area, making a smaller impact in any one place. Pleased you appreciated it.

Robyn

A very fun and nice trip in the forest.
The braai are/ bath are really enjoyable with this view.
Everything is perfect, but for the ones that want to go: don't forget that you're going in a forest not in a new fancy hotel...bring all your food and stuff and your trip will be amazing

Hi Emmanuel
I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. I think your adivce to fellow travellers is very accurate. It is a forest on a farm. It is not a city with municipality services and sterilized environments. Its trees, fynbos, insects, birds, butterflies, stars, sunsets life and beauty. Regards Robyn

Absolutely a lovely gateway destination. We had a great stay and the views is excellent! Everything you need at the place with a great bath tub. We did the walk in the forest. Only the pathway at the river was difficult to find. But all other aspects was truly awesome!!

Hi, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will go re-open paths again, thanks for the advice. The forest wants to grow, it lives. I think if we left here within 20 years not only would all the paths be closed by the tree houses would have returned to being forest. Regards
