“A blissful beach”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

From where you park your car, there's about a 20 minute walk along a really unspoilt beach, where there are always beautiful shells or you to pick up and admire. In the breeding season, you'll almost certainly see oyster catchers going about their business. What waits for you are rock pools rich with marine life. You'll find small fish, mussels, oysters, perhaps an octopus. You need to watch for the tide, because at high tide you may have to scramble over rocks en route. Finally, do please remember that dogs are not allowed on this beach. They just don't go with oyster catchers.

“Sedgefield Sphynx”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Beautiful natural sandstone formation that creates a natural sphynx jutting out at the point. Scenery like this is what makes the garden route such a special place. Take a walk from Myoli along the beach in the late-afternoon and end up at this awesome vista. There is a small reef here too, and I can recommend taking a mask and snorkel if you're wanting to do some underwater exploration. Further out from the reef and point, the waters are quite renowned for sharks, so I wouldn't swim out too deep!

As some of the previous reviewers have said, check a tide chart before visiting as there are a few parts where crossing will be difficult in high tide.

Personal tip: one of the best walks I've done is to start early morning in Wilderness and walk along the entire expanse of beach ending up at Gericke's around sunset. Pack a lunch and lots of water.

“Great walk, rockpools and shells to collect.”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

This is an easy walk, best done at low tide. The beach is beautiful and clean, and exploring the rockpools is fascinating. We go there often, and have seen dolphins, as well as a small shark and octopus in the rockpools. Great entertainment for the little one's, without having to walk too far. This a a favorite spot.
