This was our first visit to the Wine Estate and Restaurant. Five of us selected different options from the menu and all were exquisite. The chef greeted us, visited our table and saw us out and we gave him the accolades he deserved.
I had the lamb chops and was given generous portions perfectly cooked to my requirements. Needless to say, the wine accompanying our meals was 5 star. The fact that we stayed for 3 hours enjoying good food and conversation with friends says a lot about the restaurant.
The temperature (on a cold winter's day) was spot on and the ambience was fantastic. Service was attentive without being overbearing and our meals were delivered promptly. The fact that many of the wine farms in the region are introducing restaurants to extend the experience and competitiveness, speaks volumes about the numbers they receive. This restaurant puts Avontuur high on the leader board.
