Owner description: Turn off the Sir Lowry's Pass Village Road and enter the Waterkloof gates, and a lane of trees beckon towards the hills, where a total sensory experience awaits. The road meanders through an amphitheatre flanked by reclaimed fynbos and immaculately kept vineyards, before arriving at our state-of-the-art cellar. A sign welcomes you to our tasting lounge. Stop for awhile outside and breathe deeply. Fill your soul with the views over the surrounding Schaapenberg Hills and the waters of False Bay down below. Now enter the main area, designed to hold you in awe, showcasing the sincere, clean essence of our Old World-style wines. Tall glass walls allow views of both the working cellar and the farm below, while raw concrete columns frame artworks from well-known South African artists.

“Top Architecture and Menue”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

The architecture of the estate is grandios. We visited it on our way to the airport and have had only time for a two course menue at very early lunch time, but it was fantastic.

“Absolutely Amazing”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

This place is unforgettable: it is located on the top of a hill, mountains behinds and the gulf with the Ocean in front. It's all surrounded by vineyards and you can enjoy the wind blowing. The building is new and architecturally refined: great outside as well as inside. The cusine is excellent as well as for the wines. A must visit if you're in the Cape Town area!

We visited this venue during a cold rainy day in August and enjoyed a cheese platter with wine and coffee. Its our second time and definitely not the last. Upmarket wine estate with view over False Bay. A must to see. Wine and service outstanding

“Wine with a view”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

The view from up here, across Gorden's Bay is spectacular. A very cozy setup for wine tasting, couches around a central fire place , makes a very pleasant spot out of the wind! The wines were lovely and we were impressed by the service.

“Wine with a view”
Reviewed 31 January 2013

I think there are very view wineries in the world with a view like Waterkloof. Perched at the top of a hill, overlooking Sir Lowry's Pass, and False Bay, you have views of the beautiful mountain range on the one side, and the sea on the other.
Not only do you have stunning views here, the wine tasting experience is also exquisite! With a selection of the finest white and red wines, lovingly produced in the Biodynamic Vineyards, you can taste the difference. From the first sip of the Waterkloof Sauvignon Blanc, which is only made in excellent vintages, and is a wine that is capable of ageing for many years, you realize that this is a unique wine.
Then there is the Circle of Life range, which is a combination of varietals that is blended to perfection.
Circumstance is a range of wines, which is each defined by a singe grape varietal that has the character of the soil, aspect and altitude to thank for it's unique flavor.
This is truly an experience not to be missed!
