“Budget Stay! Good Value! Don't Expect 5-Star Resort! No Spa! No Fancy Restaurant!”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

It's not a fancy hotel, you get what you pay for. I read some reviews with "5-star resort" expectations. Sorry, this is not the place and you will need to budget more than US$50 a night. If you are on budget and not looking for a resort, I would recommend it. It is cheaper than Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn with free breakfast. Sarinande Hotel has better value.

Located in a small tiny street, few blocks away from the beach.
Spacious clean room, shared balconies to meet other travelers. No view, can be noisy if your room is next to the street.
Old pool. They clean it every morning. Not sure if I want to jump in, and I never did.
Nice friendly staffs. They remember everyone's name and they always do a good job to follow up on your requests.
Very small restaurant/dining area. Free breakfast was average but juice was excellent. Never dined there not sure about their food.
No spa, but they can arrange massagers to your room.

For less than $50 a night for two of us with free breakfast, I would say my stay was very pleasant and very good value!

Our next stop is Ubud, and we will stay at Hanging Garden, a 5-star resort for US$400 a night.

I booked the Sarinande Hotel based upon the high reviews on Booking.com. I typically feel comfortable by using booking.com and tripadvisor reviews. I had two reservations at the hotel, one for 4 days and a consecutive one for three days. After the first night at the hotel, I cancelled the second reservation and made a new reservation for the 4th night at a much nicer hotel that was cheaper, the Grand Balisani Suites (reviewed as well)

I contacted the hotel on multiple occasions via email about getting a ride from the airport, but never received a response. Their website states they will provide free transportation for a 3 or more night stay. I paid 150,000 rp to get there from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a drink, but looking around the hotel, it looked nothing like the pictures. The place is quite small and it's very noisy because of all the traffic. A bellman took our bags to our room which was okay, but not anything great. The room had a tv that couldn't be larger than a 16" computer monitor. It only had 4 English channels, 2 movie and 2 music video. The have a 2 hour afternoon tea which we went to the first day. We arrived about an hour into the tea and most of the food was gone, but a couple of cold fried bananas. Climbing the stairs back to our room we saw a giant rat run in front of us. The breakfast each morning was at best okay, but not great. We had several bags of dirty clothes sitting in the room. One morning the cleaning staff took it upon themselves to take one of the bags to laundry for cleaning without telling us or asking us. When we left for our next hotel, Grand Balisani Suites, we didn't realized the bag was missing until we arrived. On two occasions I emailed the hotel to inquire about the bag of clothes, but once again they didn't respond. I finally had to physically go to the hotel and inquire about the clothing. After some discussion the housekeeping staff brought us the clothing having been laundered. They were going to charge me 120,000 rp for the cleaning, but I refused to pay.

The hotel is located back in a neighborhood within a 2 minute walk of the beach. But it also must be near a busy road because I could hear motobikes all night long.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, just find a much nicer hotel for the same price.

Stayed at the hotel at the end of May for 5 nights.
We contacted the hotel earlier on therefore had a free transfer from the airport. Arrived too late for dinner at the hotel as it was after 10 and got told the restaurants in seminyak wouldn't be serving food after 10 either. Therefore we went to bed on an empty stomach.

Our room was a perfect size I believe. Bed was comfortable but as others say the room was dated. Bathroom on the other hand I felt was a lot more modern although the shower wasn't very powerful at all.
Overall our sleep quality on the hotel was okay. The constant noise of mopeds and cars going past our bedroom window did keep/wake us up which was disappointing but obviously not the hotels fault. However I don't believe we had double glazing therefore there are ways to improve the noise.

The breakfast was good but lots of ways to improve. The fact that you can have pancakes and omelettes cooked fresh for you is lovely!
Hotels provides you with two bottles of water a day which is very nice I believe.

Had food in the hotel twice and was good pride and nice. Soft drinks and beer are around the same amount as you'd pay in the bars and restaurants in the area.

Beach is literally a 2 min walk which is amazing and down the beach there are nice bars with live music and bean bags on the beach. Good spot to watch the sunset.

Seminyak centre on the other hand is a much longer walk, depending on how fast you walk! But in 30 something degrees it's a bit too far for my liking. Especially as you get locals pestering you asking if you need transport!!

Service at the hotel varies. The tour guide of whom picked us up from the airport was very helpful and booked our boat to gili and took us on a day trip around the island which was 500,000 for both of us!! Good price considering all the places we went to!!!

Pool area I felt was kept well and clean. Others commented on the fact that there wasn't enough tables for breakfast but it was never a problem for us!!

All in all a good hotel with great possibilities. Good local hotel and budget friendly!

My stay at the Sarinande was disappointing from start to finish. We could not check in for over an hour after we arrived, even though check in time was meant to be 2pm. The pool and rooms are dated and not very well maintained. The hotel advertised balconies with each room, but there was none. The view from our window was of an old mattress and shelves that were left lying around outside our room. We put laundry in for the next day delivery service and we did not get it back for 3 days. At breakfast there were never enough tables to sit at, and staff were not particularly helpful in finding somewhere for people to sit. Not really impressed, considering in Ubud I paid half the price and got a much nicer room!

Really nice hotel. Not the most new or modern. But friendly staff, large rooms and fine breakfast.
Pool is clean and towels and poolbeds are available. Its 5 minutes walk to the beach, and 10 - 15 minutes walk to the restaurants/shops etc.

You get really something for your money.

I cannot give any negative feedback!

Room Tip: All rooms have a pool view. I slept at the room which was close the the road, but no noise during t...

I stayed for 4 nights at the Sarinande Hotel. Its quite a small hotel located a bit outside from the main street - very relaxed and quiet - perfect for me since I dont like loud street and I want to have a quiet evening after a long day of sightseeing. The beach is less than 5 minutes walking. The staff were friendly and helpful - they helped me with renting a scooter and delivered to the hotel. Even helped me to extend my rental. Breakfast was good (they have an egg counter and you can order eggs to your like) and the restaurant by the pool offers delicious Indonesian and Western food at a good price. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. The bed is fantastic and comfy. Wifi is available throughout the hotel and has good connection. You'll be given the password (you dont have to ask, they will give it to you! Its attach together with breakfast and afternoon tea vouchers). Overall I'm satisfied with this hotel. Highly recommended!

My husband and I spent 11 nights here and loved our stay. We had free transport to and from the airport with welcome drinks on arrival. Our room was clean and spacious with a huge king size bed. The bathroom was clean too and had everything we needed. We hired a driver for a day trip one day and a half day trip, the tour was amazing and informative and tailored to what we wanted to do. Breakfast was great, our choice of eggs and pancakes, bacon, fruit, toast, pastries, juice and jams and spreads. Other meals and drinks were amazing for quantity and quality. The pool was clean and had shade, sun and lots of lounges. We would recommend this place to others, it is in a quieter area but close to everything you need and want...the beach, shops and great restaurants! There are also books for guests to enjoy and the internet was fast and we had no issues. If you are thinking about this hotel, stop and book!

Room Tip: If you have kids the bottom floor may be best for easy access, but the top floor was great for us an...
