We have just come home from a week in Bali and stayed at The Club Villas over New Year. The Deluxe Pool Villa was lovely and modern with a great outdoor bathroom and lovely private pool, but overall the property lacked charm and let itself down on the finer details.

A few of the good things we found:
Nice staff
Complimentary check-out to 3PM
Lovely big modern villa room with nice pool
Great laundry and tailor service
Lovely general manager

Some of the not so good things:
Instant sachet coffee rather than a nice pot of fresh coffee (and only 1 sachet, so even if you wanted a second cup you're out of luck)
Powdered milk! I put in a "special request" for fresh milk which they got for me, but it seems to me that this should be standard
Breakfast on the whole pretty average (would suggest going out)
Toilet paper wasn't restocked so we were down to tissue by the morning of checkout
No towel rails in the bathroom - nowhere to hand anything if you want it to dry
Loads of mosquitos

For the price it was okay, but sadly we wouldn't stay there again.

The layout of the villas is beautiful, as is the bathroom. However, the kitchen is downright gross and needs to be seriously updated! I couldn't even look at the floor. There were NO dishes, no eating utensils, not even a bottle opener, which was very disappointing. The appliances were old and broken down, and the sink gross. The wat in the fish moats around the kitchen was so dirty you could hardly see the fish! The poolmhad green algae growing all around it underneath the lip of it, which made me try hard not to swim to the side wh it was the worst. There was no robe and no slippers. No hand towel in the kitchen. The furniture in the bedroom is clearly from the 70s, and there were old wires coming out at all angles and cords and plugs sticking out, and a light switch that didn't work. The bedroom doors had no knobs with which to pull them in and open, so I had to dig my fingernails undneath to get them open. My TV was tiny tiny tiny and super old, bad picture, terrible selection of channels.

This place could be stellar with a little bit of money and TLC, but right now, it looks like they're just milking it. I looked at severalmother villas in this price range, and will try a different one next time I am in bali on business. They also jacked up my room rate $20 when I extended stay to a third night. Not impressed with that at all, and not the way to get customers back, guys!

Stayed with a group of girlfriends for 4D and I have to say that we had a very good first impression! The environment is peaceful and quiet, and the location is amazing with nice cafe along the street w/o your usual partying Kuta crowd. A cab ride to the beautiful 'Potato Head' (abt 1km away) would cost u about Rp20k. The downside of this place is the aging facilities - at times there would be no water to flush or even to shower, and who can forget the persevering mosquitoes (so do get a couple of coils at the nearby convenience store if u would want to reduce the mozzie bites)!

My family and I had made reservation to stay at Villa Aya from 15th to 18th of July 2011 and the reservation was duly confirmed by Villa Aya before the 15th of July 2011. However, upon arrival at Villa Aya on 15th July 2011 as planned, my family and I were told by the management of Villa Aya that they were overbooked and they were unable to check us into one of their 2-bedroom villas (even though our reservation/booking the had been confirmed beforehand).

We were then forced to check into another hotel which is relatively far from the shops and restaurants that we had planned to go at Jalan Laksmana where Villa Aya is located. We had chosen Villa Aya for certain reasons and the main reason for it is because of its location and the vaious good comments given on tripadvisor. As tourists, research was obviously done beforehand to go to the shops and restaurants along Jalan Laksmana where Villa Aya is located. So when they moved/relocated us to another hotel, we had to incur unnecessary costs for transportation and etc. As a result, we were not able to enjoy our trip to the fullest.

Even though we indicated repeatedly that we were not happy with their arrangements, nothing was done by Villa Aya in relation to our complaint. They were not in the least apologetic about the whole incident but persistently denied that the fault lies with them. Even though we had made arrangement to see one of the representatives before 9 a.m. the following day to trash out the problems, the person did not appear/come at the appointed time at all. It was only after we had left for sight-seeing that he/she came to see us and left a note. We had gone to Bali for holidays and they should not expect us to wait for them the whole day to come and see us. As a matter of courtesy, their representative should have come to see us about our complaints at the agreed time (i.e. before 9a.m.)! Thereafter, no effort whatsoever was made on their part to meet us again.

We are very upset with the overall arrangements and their service and we truly believe that we as customers should not be placed at their mercy. In summary, we will simply not go back to Villa Aya again.

They call themselves "luxuriously appointed villas" we have been lucky enough to visit Bali many times staying in both hotels and villas, if this had been our first visit to a villa I doubt we would have ever returned to Bali. We asked to have our room upgraded when we arrived only to be told that our Villa was the most newly refurbished!! it was dirty, with mold and peeling paint in the downstairs bedroom which indecently was without any windows. I asked that breakfast not be prepared in our villa as the kitchen was dirty and rusty and plagued with mosquitos (while I was out getting coffee they prepared it in our Villa anyway) We had to keep our shoes on at all times as our feet would be black from the dirt. We managed to check out the next day but unfortunately for my son it was too late to avoid being bitten terribly by bed bugs! If only we had read trip advisor before booking on Wotif we could have saved ourselves time, money and stress. Booked into Lashmi Villas already for next year to avoid disappointment

We stayed in the Club Villas for 5 nights a week ago, and thought it was very enjoyable. The room was clean and spacious, the outdoor area wasn't the most luxurious, but a nice haven to spend time. The bathroom was impressive - modern & spacious.

The pool was a bit cold, and wasn't in sun for very much of the day.

Hot water, as many of the other reviews said, was irregular.
Take soap with you - they don't provide it.
Lots of mozzies - bring repellent!

Wi Fi was on & off - sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

A bit of irregularity with the breakfast situation. Sometimes we didn't even get it, (may have been because we were already out or didn't hear the knock). We didn't mind - very basic and small portions. Breakfasts in close-by restaurants were much more appealing!

We didn't hear any noise from the surrounding clubs, only motorbikes - which wasn't a problem.

The restaurants & bars were amazing on Oberoi St/Laksmana. Go next door to Divine Wonderland for a quirky wonderland themed bar - amazing tappas!
Try the Japanese place across the road and look up Potato Head for a great night out.

You can take a short cut along quiet back roads, past other villas to get to the beach through Ku De Ta restaurant.
