It's hard for me to give top marks, but this place deserves them. After three dinner visits and one lunch, I have nothing but praise for the food. Billed as a Spanish restaurant, with tapas and paella, it offers a broader range of fine European food. Light salads and soups make for a perfect, modestly priced, but elegant lunch. The space is large, and there is a serious barbecue facility. For dinner we have tried the lamb chops (very tender, moist and delicious straight from the BBQ).
The pork belly was a generous helping, succulent and very tasty. The slow cooked lamb shoulder was also an ample serving, presented as a boneless roll...a format I have not encountered before. It was very tender and full flavoured, a testament to the professional skills in the kitchen. As sides we had the French fries and a small but remarkable serving of roasted red capsicum that was so intensely flavoured, and unlike any I have had before.
For us they have excelled on every visit...be it a simple lunch or a dinner...usually with some little extras thrown in, like a piece of Spanish omelette, or poor man's caviar (egg plant delice) and chocolate mousse sample). Wines are a bit on the pricy side, so we stuck to beer. But in the end, it's all about the food.
