“perfect family villa”

We had originally booked the Villa Ashmik however a double booking me at that we were moved to the Villa Gardenia. After the initial frustration (we had two family's to keep happy) it turned out great. We had 7 kids ranging from 3 to 16 and the villa perfectly accomodating them. Pool fence was a great relief for smaller kids, cinema room was perfect to have quite time with the kids after hectic days and being air conditioned me at it was a great place to cool down.

All bedrooms were perfect with plenty of space and each having their own bathroom was a bonus.

The service staff were brilliant, cooked exactly what we wanted each day and so much food! Everything was so tasty and they were on time each day too. The cleanliness was right on point and the staff we full of smiles and could not do enough for us.

We only had a small issue with the pool, which was out of the control of the staff with rain, it threw the chemicals out slightly, as soon as we notified them they came to fix it straight away anyway.

Great location for those that are able to walk, only about 200m from the main road in Seminyak and so close to the Bintang supermarkets etc for all your needs. Just need to be careful at night with the exposed drains on the side of the road as my mother in law did have a fall one night. The oncoming headlights can make it hard to see. Obviously this has nothing to do with the villa owners responsibility just a tip.

I would stay with this group again.

Management Response
21 Jul 2016
Thanks for the review, yes it was an unfortunate error with the double booking and again we do apologise.
We are glad you enjoyed the upgrade to our largest villa and it suited your needs.
As with most of Bali, street lighting is an ongoing issue but they are getting infrastructure under control slowly.

“Couldn't be happier”

We just returned from an amazing two week stay at Villa Gardenia and wish we could turn around and go back. Although there were just the four of us (myself, my wife and our two boys), the villa could easily hand two or three times that number. With six bedrooms it could easily fit two families without feeling crowded.

On the first night our flight was delayed and we managed to get in around midnight, but all the staff stayed up to welcome us which was a fantastic touch.

The villa is located within the main area of Seminyak, and an easy walk to Bintang and Double Six beach. A couple of dollars in a taxi will get you to Seminyak Square, Ku De Ta and Potato Head.

The villa itself has recently been renovated, and is extremely comfortable with large beds, sofas and televisions galore. It was easy for everyone to find their own space and it was glorious returning to the sanctuary of the villa after a busy day exploring everything Bali has to offer. A well equipped kitchen and huge fridge meant we could make our own meals (on occasion....the food in the restaurants close by was sensational...especially The Grain, Dusty, and Bo and Bun) and have plenty of snacks on hand. Whenever we ran out 'Buds' shop on the corner (literally 20 metres out the front door), had plenty of drinks, chocolates and ice creams to keep us happy.

The staff were wonderful. Ariani in particular is lovely and went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy. She organised transport for us whenever required, and even travelled to the pharmacy to collect some antibiotics when one of our sons got an ear infection. She also babysitted our two boys on a couple of nights when we went out She played games, watched DVDs and entertained the boys marvellously. We wanted to bring her home with us...

Overall we had a brilliant time at Villa Gardenia and can't really fault it.

We will definitely be back!

“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 20 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed as a group of 8 at Gardenia.
The staff, including the owner Paul, couldn't of been more helpful!
The staff that came each day to tidy up were lovely and spoke English. When we had an issue with the air conditioning I emailed Paul and it was sorted the next day.
We were fully satisfied with our stay. The pool was a god send and everyone having their own comfortable room was great.
The location isn't in the main strip of Seminyak but it was only a 10-15min walk away. Everything we needed wasn't too far away. It was less than 60m to the closest mini mart with AU$1.60 Bintang!
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at on our first trip to Bali.
Thanks so much to Paul and his staff

“Perfect Villa for the Extended family”
Reviewed 3 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed for 8 nights with out extended family(15 of us in total).
I have to stay the whole process from initially dealing with Paul, an Australian owner, to getting picked up at the airport to dealing with the staff at the villa, was AMAZING.
The villa has almost everything a family could need for a comfortable stay.
6 bedrooms, TV in each room? Plus one in the open lounge & a bigger TV in in the cinema room.
They have all cooking utensils needed, a good sized fridge, plenty of fun CD's and lots of DVD's especially for the kids.
They have babycots, highchairs, stroller, kids books & pool fence on request.

The villa itself is not brand new, however it has comfortable beds in each room & awesome aircon.
There are also two very large, modern, very comfortable couches in the lounge and cinema room.
There are 4 double rooms with large king sized beds & two smaller rooms with twin single beds in them, both with ensuite bathrooms as well.

There was a 19litre bottle of filtered water for us to enjoy everyday, so just bring your bottle water so you can enjoy at your leisure.

The pool was perfect temperature and well maintained.

The Staff, Ariani & Putu were absolutely amazing, friendly & helpful.
They cleaned the villa spotlessly everyday and were always happy yo cook breakfast if we asked them to.
They were so amazing with our kids, to a point that i think our 10month old fell in love with Ariani & she nearly cried when we left.

Close to heaps of restaurants, bars, money exchange, mini marts(there is one at the start of the driveway) & BINTANG SUPERMARKET.
Anything further, you can hop on The Bluebird taxi(remember to ask them turn the meter on), should cost around 20,000 rupiah( $2 Australian dollars) to most place in seminyak & legian.

WIFI at the villa was extremely reliable and quick.

THINGS THIS VILLA CAN IMPROVE ON.
The most frustrating thing about this villa is
NO LOCAL PHONE.
It was extremely difficult to order a taxi or home delivery if you did not have global roaming on.
I addressed this with Paul and he advised that the area had tun out of telephone exchanges & one of the guest had lost or stole the villa mobile phone.

The Australian Channels on the TV did not work. We did get someone in to try and fix it but he never came back to complete the job, so we missed the entire 1st round of AFL Football:-(

The pool, is one depth around 1.4meters so if you have kids who cant swim well, pls bring some floating devices with you.

There is no oven, but you can use the microwave on grill function, but takes really long to cook.

The toaster also takes incredibly long to toast the bread.

The concrete squares on the grass and the wooden stairs can get incredibly slippery when whet, so maybe a coat of some antislip is needed to prevent accidents.

Apart from these minor improvements, if i travel with a big group again, i would definitely stay at this villa & it is extremely value for money especially being so close to everything.

Thanks Paul & staff, you guys get a score of 8.5 out of 10 from us:-)

“A great place to unwind”
Reviewed 13 March 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Having spent less than 24hrs in Bali at this beautiful property, it felt as though we were a million miles from home. That's the true test of a relaxing place.

We joined a group of friends over the Australia Day weekend having made the short hop from Brisbane. There were a couple of cars waiting for us arranged by the owner, as we cleared the throngs of locals offering their own personal taxi to our destination. Less than 20 minutes later we arrived at Villa Gardenia to chilled cocktails prepared by the staff.

Following a very comfortable night's sleep in our air-conditioned room we woke just after sunrise. We sought out breakfast at one of the many local cafes & restaurants less than 5 minutes from Villa Gardenia. After a day lounging around the pool and being looked after by the staff that always seemed close by, we booked an Uber using the free wi-fi which had a signal just strong enough to allow us to track our ride whilst standing at the end of the short road outside Villa Gardenia - great planning & it saved me arranging a local simcard.

Although Villa Gardenia was close enough to plenty of attractions we spent most of our weekend around the pool, either under the Bali hut or in the comfortable outdoor lounge next to the kitchen. With a convenience store less than 100m from the front door we were easily catered for during the days.

The weekend passed all too quickly.

In summary, the staff were very friendly, great at keeping the place clean & tidy, Villa Gardenia was close to a plethora of restaurants & bars and just 15 minutes walk to the beach whilst at the same time extremely peaceful away from the hustle & bustle of the
local town.

As this was the first time for us in a villa I was a little unsure.
However, I found the experience really good, we joined friends from around the world who came and left at different times.
All were delighted with the staff who couldn't do enough for everyone, the bedrooms are large, as are the beds, the showers are hot and clean.
There wasn't a thing we required that wasn't already there.
Thank you all for a great time.

“What a fantastic place for a holiday”

We really enjoyed our holiday in this beautiful well maintained villa. Décor and furniture are well chosen, including enormous beds and it is always very clean. The staff will cook a good breakfast just how you like it and will do anything to help you. They are excellent. We enjoyed being in the open air living room with the pool just in front of it and a TV with MANY available channels but there is also a seperate cosy cinema room. The villa gives easy access to a nice beach, shops and on can always catch a taxi to eat out or go further afield. There is a very good 'villa guide' telling you everything from how to find a doctor to planning where to eat that night!

Hi Jo, I could not have put it better myself, its the little things in our villas that can make a difference, like the Australian TV channels, the easy child friendly layouts and of coursee our custom made pool fences for added peace of mind.

Again thanks for the review
