“The Perfect Holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2013

We stayed in Seiryu Villas for 1 week and did not want to leave. I could not fault the place. I absolutely loved the villa we stayed in - its really quiet and private but yet you are close to everything in Seminyak. The bed was huge and it was all very spacious. The staff were so friendly and helpful - especially Tapa, Senna and Minni. The food was delicious - I loved the breakfast (try the french toast!) and the meals were delicious. We had some spa treatments they organisd in our villa that were amazing! We really did not want to leave the place and I really recommend it. Perfect for a romantic couples holiday!

Room Tip: We stayed in Villa B-2. I didnt see the rest but loved it. You can take a step out of the bathroom i...

We stayed in the Villa for 5 nights and could have stayed many more. The villa was huge. It had a lovely big bed, large lounge kitchen with dining room, spa bath, shower, separate toilet and bathroom. A good size lap pool and romantic day bed. The staff were perfect. Nothing was a bother. The breakfast was delivered by your butler each morning - lovely couldn't fault. The room was cleaned each day. Shops, beach and restaurants were walking distance. The laundry was 2 min away and so cheap. It was a lovely holiday and would recommend it.

Room Tip: All good but try "B" - Royal rooms.

My husband and I were looking for a lazy few days in Seminyak and we found it at Seiryu Villas. The whole experience was one of luxury and we walked away feeling more relaxed than we have in a long time.

We were upgraded from a Deluxe to a Royal villa complete with a complete kitchen, daybed, plunge pool, jacuzzi and the most enormous king-sized bed. For the additional $50 per night, we would highly recommend the upgrade - especially if you are planning to spend a lot of time in your villa.

The breakfasts (included in the price) were beautifully prepared and presented inside the villa - and we've been so spoiled that we're not sure we can go back to buffet! The staff were delightful.. extremely friendly and helpful at any time of the day.

The location is also excellent being a short stroll from all the main Seminyak 'hot spots', if you're looking for a great range of places to eat and drink. It is also a short 5 minute stroll to the beach (although, why would you when you have a gorgeous, private plunge pool and day bed?).

If we had to pick one thing (and it is tiny), the villas are starting to show a little 'tiredness'. It's really minor things like a tile missing off the water feature and one small area of peeling paint on the exterior ceiling. However, we (and I expect most reasonable person) would overlook.

Our overall impression was one of excellence. The complex is extremely quiet, private and relaxing and I wouldn't hesitate in staying again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Royal Pool Villa for complete luxury

Took me a while to write my review, as I was struggling on whether is was a 4 or 5 star experience. Stayed at The Sieryu from 19 to 23 May – the entire experience in general was really great, but with a few flaws.

Upon arrival at the airport, and took the airport taxi which cost us IDR 120,000 after some haggling. Took about 30 minutes from the airport to the villa which was located in Seminyak area.It was a little difficult for the driver to locate, since he almost mistook another Jalan Drupadi Villa no 8, as the Seiryu, but credits to him, he checked and found the right place. From the outside, it looks like a very simple place with very high security, because you cannot see what’s in the villa at all ( not even from the reception).

Upon check in, we had a very refreshing lemon grass soda and chilled towels which came at a great time to beat the super hot weather. As we were earlier than the usual check in time, our rooms were not ready, but Mini offered to safekeep our bags until our villa was ready. When we were back, our bags were already placed nicely in the villa, and Mini brought us for a villa tour. The walkway to the villa was really private and dark, with the doors of the villa on the right hand side.

There are only 8 villas, so you can imagine the amount of attention you will received from the team :) We were celebrating our anniversary, and the team really made a very nice effort into preparing a honeymoon experience for us – From the flower petal arrangements on the bed and the Jacuzzi bathtub, to a slice of cake in the fridge, the surprise was really delightful!!

In summary, the pros:
-A lot of privacy in the villas
-Nice and luxurious rooms
-Friendly front desk and security staff who are really sincere in sharing their life stories with you
-Quiet area compared to kuta beach area,
-Insect repellents in the rooms to reduce the number of flies coming in
-Very nice departure – when we were going to leave the hotel for the taxi, there was a row of staff at the entrance saying goodbye to you. Very nice gesture 
-Many massage and spa salons in that area – you can get a massage in a spa for about 20 bucks

The flaws that made us a little disappointed were:
1)Inconsistent housekeeping standard - Our toiletries amenities were not replenished – shower caps, emery board etc, we had to reuse the ones until the last (4th) night, where the toiletries were magically replenished again. Not sure if it’s housekeeping or just the way it’s supposed to be
2)The flush system in the toilet didn’t work well , and we had to keep trying and trying until it works. While it’s not a big deal, it’s a little frustrating, and there was a day we just had to call the reception to resolve the issue
3)The wireless didn’t work at times – kept trying to log in the wireless in the day, but kept having intermittent connections, or couldn’t even connect. It works well at night. Might be good to just load all your info, and your maps for the places the night before.
4)Location not the easiest to find – drivers got confused with Villa no. 8 at Jalan Drupadi 8
5)Location a little far from the main Seminyak area – it’s about 10-15 minutes drive or 30 by foot

Thank you to the team at The Seiryu who made our stay so memorable!!

Villas about 7 years old and are showing signs of tiredness which is a pity as the concept is fabulous we didn't see any other guest there even though they were full -very private court yard plunge pool and day bed
Staff very attentive shuttle to either seminyak square or kuta ,breakfast choice good and served by butler in your villa -lots of new hotels going up in the area they will need to keep the decorative side in tip top condition .

We have just returned from our annual trip to Bali and this being our third time in Bali, we are very pleased that we have chosen Seiryu this time. We were in awe of the peacefulness and calmness of the villa once we stepped in, away from the bustling streets of Seminyak. We felt at home almost immediately when greeted by the staff members. Every display in the villa and its surroundings has a meaning to it and we find the culture there very refined. The villa itself had everything you ever needed and there is even a mineral water dispenser which saves you the time of boiling drinking water or risk getting a bali-belly (we experienced this the last 2 times we were in Bali). The staff member Tapa and Operations Manager Widyi was very helpful in booking a vehicle to take us out to the places we wanted to go and they made sure that all our needs were taken care of, including helping us to buy a local fruit to bring back to our home country. Another staff member, Mini was also very kind to bring external therapists (at a lower cost) to our villa for a private massage session as most of the spa services were fully booked. Breakfast is the most impt food of the day and they have done it to perfection especially the Japanese breakfast and fried banana fritters. They would deliver the breakfast to the villa at the appointed time and would re-heat up the food using the microwave in the villa again for our immediate consumption. Next to the villa is the famous Lestari restaurant and Mini was kind enough to help us take our supper order from the restaurant when their own kitchen has closed. On the day of our departure, the Operations Manager drove us to the airport and even brought us to a souvenir shop to do our last min shopping before continuing to the airport. This experience was immaculate and we will certainly return again. Well done!

Everything about the villa was perfect. Right from the booking, arranging of airport transfer, dinner etc was done with patience and attention to details on the staff's part was fantastic. Upon entering the villa, we immediately felt relaxed and the sense of calmness it projects is just amazing. The villa itself was really clean, spacious, and zen-like which we love. Jacuzzi bathtub, lightings and the bed was fantastic! Staff there were very patient and hospitable as it was our first time to Bali. Wife and me decided we'd be back here every chance we get.
