“Sweet Swiss Villa”
Reviewed 25 July 2011

We enjoyed our stay at the Bali Swiss Villa. The complex and villas were beautiful. The design is excellent, 2 bedrooms opposite to each other with an open living area looking out at your private pool.
Breakfasts cooked by the staff are a great idea, never thought a Sunderland lad like myself would have servants.....
Kids loved playing their Bali DVD's in their bedroom.
There are some negatives to our stay. They are in danger of losing the" wow" factor due to poor maintenance. Taps were loose and cupboards were in need of a sparkling clean.
The location is not great. It is about a 10 mins car ride away from Seminyak in a place called Kunti. It is tucked away behind a seedy looking back lane with pot holes and dogs every where.
Back to the positives. There is a fantastic spa literally metres away from the complex. Excellent $8 each for myself and wife for 1 hour massage.
Overall, we would definitely go back, it is the way to holiday "Luxury Villas."

We stayed here with another family and found the accommodation very nice and roomy. All up there was ten of us and we had three rooms in the villa. The pool inside was great and you could literally lay in bed and watch them swim. The problem here is location, it feels like your out in an industrial estate and every where you go you need transport. We found ourselves getting taxis into town (seminyak) every night and was at least 20 minutes. A courtesy bus would be a good inclusion. There is no restaurant or bar at the villas so make sure you bring some supplies. Breakfast is cooked at your villa which is good but lacked variety. All up nice if you want to be isolated but would stay closer to restaurants and shops next time

It's funny you read the reviews for this place and everyone comments on the conditions of the room, but most people say it's worth visiting. I found exactly the same thing. The villa's themselves are fantastic, they are huge and having you're own private pool outside you're bedroom door is fantastic. The Bed was so comfortable, it's great to have people come into you're villa in the morning and cook you breakfast. I personally liked the fact that it is a little out of the way. It was nice to wake up in the morning to sound of roosters and rarther than nosie you get staying more central. However they have been built on the cheap big time. The Villa's are only years old and there is major wear and tear issues. Most of the furniture had marks on it. The handles on the all the cupboards really needed to be replaced. And the kitchen is way understocked. Bali is not the sort of place you really need to have full kitchen but it would have been nice to have a few more plates when we brought snacks back to use. The towels were also just bad. If you don't get a beach towel make sure you ask for one, as these are the best ones as they are fairly new. There is a fantastic day spa around the corner, well worth visiting and really great prices. Also there is Bali Deli a short walk from the villa, great for getting little snacks from all around the world. Also well worth trying is the Colonial vegitarian restaurant, which was a real gem.

One thing that is really important if you are new to Bali or just jumping off a plane, make sure you get directions on how to get there first, most cab drivers didn't know where it was and our transfers took us to a completely different hotel at first. (Most taxi drivers know Bali Dream Villas so use that as a reference or if you need to get close at least use Bali Deli and look for the signs on the main intersection.

Despite all it's misgivings I would stay there again, although I would hope that the owners spend some money and upgrade the rooms.

Stayed here for a few nights with my wife. The location of the villa is a little out of the way from the main seminyak area, but if you have a personal driver (which many would get when in Bali for convenience), it is not that big an issue. It is not very near to any beach, but the quiet location does provide plenty of privacy.

Villa wise, not bad. As per previous reviews, a fan in the living area will be helpful. Rooms are big and the toilets too! It is great having a private pool which I used every mornings, and nights. But it would be great if it can be cleaned up a little more. I found a dead cockroach on my second night.

Service wise, very very good. Each request was met promptly. Room was cleaned up by the time we come back to the villa each day. Breakkie was okie, not fantastic, but you do have a good spread with fruits, juices and bread.

Overall, not a bad place if you want to get away from the crowd.

Bali Swiss Villa is good value for money. The layout of the two rooms of our villa was a bit strange. When you went from the central room to one of the bed rooms you got wet if it was raining. The roof leaked in more than one place and the floors got wet in many places from rain slashing in. I think these rooms desperately need some mats to dry your feet and the addition of bigger awnings would help. Having a private pool was nice. The bathroom had several things broken and the roof leaked. I was particularly concerned about the light fitting that was lying broken on the wet floor and flickering on and off. It appears no maintenance has been done on these rooms and it wouldn't take much to make them perfect. Despite these things it was a nice place to stay and good value for money. I saw the other room in our villa and it only had one light that didn't work so my room may have not been representative of the others in the complex.

Well before I left for Bali, I happened to read one of the reviews on Trip Advisor from some one who visited in September 2010 which made me worried and I wrote a mail to Bali Swiss to take care of all the requirement but when I reached there the situation was totally in contrast to what the review was. The place is decently located. Its worth staying in style and Luxury. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. If they take some more efforts they can make it further better and flawless. the gadgets instaled need to be updraded and must install ceiling fans in the sitting/living area and possible an airconditioner with a facilty to cove the rrom instaed of chicks vis a vis collapsable doors. The place is well maintained clean. Value for money.

We booked a premium suite at Bali Swiss Villa for 3 nights. Overall, the villa is beautiful! The rooms were clean and neat, the staffs were very helpful and friendly. Though we have many requets, they are still patience to help and serve us. There are complimentary breakfast every morning which they cook in your villa and a complimentary transport arranged from and to the villa as well. However, the kitchen is not very well equipped as we wanted to cook in our villa but it's was a great stay overall.
